A Florida woman was fatally struck by a big rig truck Friday and for hours afterward her dog remained at the scene, lying down in the road where the accident happened.

Deputies found the victim dead in the street around 6:15 a.m. near a Jacksonville gas station, ActionNewsJax reported. The family identified her as Kelly Black, 42, and told the Fox affiliate she was walking her dog Paco at the time.

Paco, who was uninjured, stayed with Black after she was hit. He remained there, lying in the road with a red bandana around his neck, long after her body had been removed, the station reported.

This is why I go apeshit crazy mad when I hear of anyone mistreating an animal. Cats are our loving friends too.

That dog has more human feelings in him than the people at Planned Parenthood and the people who fund them.

Dogs are like that they don’t get over loss quickly, there are many stories like this, I remember reading a few years back a fellow in Japan use to take his dog every day to the train station and his dog was there waiting when the train brought him home from work, one day the man died at work, the dog waited everyday at the station for the man to return home; after the dog died they built a statue of the dog at the train station.

I believe I read this story here on FR!

There’s “people” at planned parenthood? No, they’re ghouls.

There's a town in Scotland called Greyfriar. They have a statue of a little Sky Terrier in the main square to this day. The story, from the 1880s goes, the dog adopted an old shepherd who he'd worked the herds with for many years. The dog decided he belonged to the shepherd and when the shepherd, who was very old, was dismissed from his job he went to live out his life in Greyfriar that was about 8 miles away. The dog, not realizing he belonged to the farm where he lived made the trek to the town on his own and found the old shepherd there. The shepherd once finding the dog knew he needed to return him to the farm and would have done so the next day but as fate would have it the shepherd died that night. They found that the shepherd had enough money on him to be buried in the best cemetery in town and buried him there. The dog would not ever be deterred from sleeping on the old mans grave from that point on. There's a lot more to the story and it's a very good one about Bobby, the dog and his love of an old man who he took as his master for life and beyond.

Disney made a cool little movie about this true story and legend back in the 60s for 'Wonderful world of Disney'. It is still available on DVD and is a great little flick for those who love dogs. It's called "Greyfriars Bobby"
