The media is corporate owned, Corporate owned. Let that sink in for a moment.

First they say they are not biased, then go on to list ways they are biased.

When the MSM admits Barack Obama with Hillary Clinton covered up the Benghazi terrorist attack that killed a US Ambassador and 3 other US citizens with their video lie for pure political reasons, 6 weeks before the 2012 Presidential Election, then I’ll re-evaluate my low opinion of them.

The news media has always been biased.

Up until the 1950s every major city had at least two newspapers, and sometimes more. Bias was more acceptable since they could balance each other out.

When television began to take over providing news, there were only three networks, and to be honest, the coverage was almost universally the same.

The decline in newspapers correspond to the rise of television, and now most major cities only have one paper. So those still getting their news from newspapers, are only being exposed to one view.

So the bias remained but the number of options declined.

Now, with the internet, and sites like FreeRepublic, we can be exposed to a wide range of sources for news. True the bias remains, but the readers are able to provide balance.

It is now up to individuals to decide how much weight to put on any particular view, and make up their own mind on issues.

Information is bypassing the gatekeepers, and that explains why they want to shut down sites like this one.

I didn’t get any further in the article once it mentioned that Susan Collins was a centrist Republican.

Justin Beiber is an obnoxious little twit. He has never lied to me, he has never given cover to communists, islamists, abortionists, or gun grabbers. At least, not that I'm aware of.

Big Media do all of those things, routinely, on a daily basis, and do little else.

Get rid of Big Media. Ignore the Bieber.

Like alcoholics, leftist shills never believe they’re leftist shills.

As this writer confirms.

” The author cites a 2005 study that concluded that, while most newspapers are center-left, 18 of the 20 media outlets it examined held political positions that were in between Joe Lieberman (a centrist Democrat) and Susan Collins (a centrist Republican).”

A centrist is somebody who is willing to compromise with a liberal. But anything liberal ratchets the entire society to the left. You can’t ever back up. A typical compromise is enacting a socialist policy in three years rather than today. A centrist touts that as a win.

Gee, could that be why your newspapers have shrunk to the size of Kroger “Buy One, Get One Free” flyer — and are about as interesting?

No. The mass media are a divisive force and need to have scorn heaped on them.

Journalism investigates journalism, finds nothing wrong!

If journalists DOCUMENTED events, there wouldn’t be a problem. Instead, they foment events, cultivate bias, and obfuscate truth.

The study is just another journalistic lie.

Which one is likely to overdose in some nightclub bathroom and remove himself?

Get rid of the MSM. Bieber is on the Jim Morrison/ Amy Winehouse track.

A recent, eye-opening literature review by a professor from Stockholm University in Annual Review of Economics examined the impact of the mass media on society and politics. Its findings were far less grim than what is commonly believed.

Brought to you by the same professors who bring us the global warming stats?

Liberal control of the Media/News industry is US Enemy number one.

We should be taking a sledge hammer to the existing media system. It is filled with nothing but Urban Liberal Democrat Party Union members who can't be unbiased because their worldview has no grasp of the fact that they are inherently biased.

The only way to address this is to force them to hire people outside of their world view. We should be filing discrimination lawsuits against them until the political balance of the News and Entertainment industries resemble the country at large.

We should be filing lawsuits against their hiring and promotion practices, because they routinely discriminate against conservatives (1/3 to 1/2 of the nation) in their hiring.

Until the makeup of the News Rooms resemble the political Demographics of the Country at large, these people should be regarded as guilty of deliberate discrimination against a very significant plurality.

Nixon- deletes 16 minutes of a recording, gets impeached as president.

Obama - spends much of his day playing golf, where he can discuss things with people far away from any pesky microphones or logging. You didn't REALLY think he loved golf?

I ran an informal and unscientific poll here at FR some years back.

Who is the least untrustworthy? Who is worse?

Politicians or the media?

Results were clear. Politicians were lying dirtbags who were incompetent at best; dangerous and corrupt.

The media was 10 times WORSE.
