Yep, I want my heart worked on by an 80% right surgeon.
The dumbing down of America continues.
They want an ignorant / PC to a fault / easy to manipulate populace. In other words, future Democrat voters.
Diversity baby!
It will come to that in the end.
Why don’t they just skip the entire, silly high school thing and hand them a diploma when they turn 16?
Lots of money could be saved.
No wonder many kids today cannot do simple math in their head or find the USA on a map. (Of course many don’t have maps according to the brilliant Miss Alabama.)
.
.
50% of 25 year olds are now still living with their parents.
Could the two issues be related? worthless degrees being handed out to completely illiterate kids who no one will hire after talking to them for 30 seconds.
Sounds like “equality” and socialism to me. No one will want to excel in that environment and they’ll reap what they sow.
They can’t skip high school....where would they get trained to play football? /sarc

My thought exactly. Hire baby sitters at $15 an hour to house them and hand them diplomas when they get old enough. Same results for a fraction of the cost.
You can be a C student by knowing 20% of the material and then guessing right on one out of four multiple choice questions where you don’t know the answer.
Hey, they had a problem with not enough kids passing.
Now more kids are passing.
Brilliant!!!
20% is a big hurdle we’re demanding of these kids. Doesn’t seem fair to put that kind of burden on them. /s
Any parents in the school district who plan on having their children attend college will be moving out of the school district ASAP as the grades reported by the schools will have no meaning to their admission process.
You can imagine what will happen to the school district when all the smarter students leave the school district.
And if all the tests are multiple choice, and the number of choices on each problem is 4, and there 100 problems or more per test, and 3 or fewer tests per semester, it is statistically unlikely that anyone will get less than 20% on more than one test per semester.
On the other hand, they could implement it statewide to remove the ‘Asian advantage’. If half of them have straight A’s, then it’s not discriminatory to ignore the Asian kid.
So the students that put forth almost no effort to get 60% on an exam will now have incentive to work even less ... to get the 20% ...
Everyone get a trophy, because they participated in a sporting event ... everyone gets a diploma because they showed up.
In that case, they’ll go to 3 question multiple choice tests by law.
Put the basket at 4’ and even I can slam dunk.
