Legally, alcohol is banned in Saudi Arabia. In reality, however, there are people in the country who drink.
If you're wondering how exactly they actually get that alcohol, consider the multiple reports in the Saudi press today that describe how the Saudi authorities at border with United Arab Emirates caught a man with 48,000 cans of Heineken – all disguised as Pepsi cola.

**** “Nice guy....shame we would have to kill him if open hostilities ever broke out between our countries” ****
Nope... the shame is that the entire time he was with you he was thinking that if he got caught with you he would have to kill you before you could talk.

And you didn’t know it!
Muslim/Arabs’ ancestors invented agriculture and alcohol, thus starting the first civilization in the fertile crescent... ironic that now they hate alcohol and are desert nomadic barbarians.
I had AF friends stationed at Riyahd in the early 1990’s. “Tea ration” was once a week with the clear understanding that it was for in house consumption only. Empty bottles had to be kept and turned back in to be exchanged for a new full bottle when purchased. Empty was then crushed on the spot.
I’ll bet cans of Pepsi disguised as Heineken are being smuggled into Atlanta.
Yep that Vat69 , Tiger Beer and Sidiki Bathtub Gin was everywhere......
Sounds almost like Pizza Hut in Doha Qatar on PLO night ..... pizzas and pistols with a side of knives and knowing grins..... hold the pork sausage of course.
Ah, I see they’re familiar with the old ‘disguise the Heineken as a can of Pepsi’ ploy.
Minister Hacker goes to Qumran and the British delegation have a party and drink alcohol using code words like "Minister, the Scotch delegation is calling for you -- a Mr. Walker, Mr. Johnnie Walker" or "The Soviet ambassador is on the line -- Comrade Smirnoff" or "We need to talk about some Teachers"... :)
What is weird is that alcohol was probably first brewed in what are now Moslem countries — like beer first in Egypt and wine in Iran
The Pakis were not radicalized until the late 70s thanks to Zia ul Huq and Saudi Money.
If you’re going to take that risk, you might as well choose a decent beer.
:’)
Agriculture was most definitely invented in what is now Iraq, but those people were Sumerians/Elamites -- this was before the Semitic people came out of Yemen
the Sumerians/Elamites are one of the ancestors of the Iranis, Iraqis, Egyptians, Syrians etc. but this blood is also in Indians (thanks to Elamo-Dravidians), Armenians and to some extent Europeans (and by extension Americans - white and black).
The desert nomadic barbarians -- the Nejdi Bedouins -- invented nothing.
I think the better question is why would you smuggle Heineken, at all?!
I mean, if you want to drink donkey p*ss, there's plenty of them running around in Saudi Arabia, I'm sure.
To be fair, I've had the occasional Heineken on airlines, because for some reason, that's the only non-"light" beer they seem to serve. But as the saying goes, "Any port in a storm."
Heh! I can see you’ve been to Atlanta.
The Marriott hotels here may not put it out, but if you ask, they can generally cough up a Coke or Diet Coke.
LOL. Going the wrong direction there...

If you want to play with chronology, agriculture was invented 6000 years before Sumerians even existed and 7000 years before elamites roamed that area.
