Fox News Sunday tried to ask Ben Carson some policy questions about the terrorist attack in Paris, and the result was a dose of insanity that include a lectured on brain sizes, and Carson's support for a shooting war with Russia.
Carson was asked four times by host Chris Wallace what his response to the Paris attacks would be if he were president, and he couldn't answer, but the real crazy was yet to come.
In response to the question about whether the US should accept refugees from Syria, Carson went on a rant about the human brain:
WALLACE: The Obama administration has said before that it would accept up to 10,000 Syrian refugees as part of the humanitarian crisis. We now learn that one of these attackers had a Syrian passport that indicated he had been part of the refugee flood into Europe in October. Would you continue that policy?
CARSON: Well, you know, as I've said all along, you know, bringing people into this country from that area of the world I think is a huge mistake. Because why wouldn't they infiltrate them with people who are ideologically opposed to us? It would be foolish for them not to do that. So, we need to be very compassionate to understand that these people have been displaced and we should use our expertise and resources to help get them resettle over there, and to support them over there, but to bring them here under these circumstances is a suspension of intellect.
You know, the reason that the human brain has these big frontal lobes as opposed to other animals, because we can engage in rational thought processing, we can, you know, extract information from the past, the present, process it and project it into a plan. Animals, on the other hand, have big brain stems and rudimentary things, because they react. We don't have to just react, we can think.
Carson took crazy to another level when he suggested getting into a shooting war with Russia in Syria:
WALLACE: Dr. Carson what happens if the Russians respond to that by shooting down one of our planes?
CARSON: I would do that in conjunction with the Turkish forces along the Syrian/Turkish border where a huge number of those refugees located. It's a humanitarian thing to try to provide them a safe haven for now.
WALLACE: But sir, if I may press my-
CARSON: And I would make sure that the Russians understood that we are going to do that.
WALLACE: If I may press my point, what do you do if â after we shoot down a Russian plane, they shoot down one of ours?
CARSON: If they violate it, we will, in fact, enforce it. And, you know, we'll see what happened. You know, too, for us to always be backing down because we are afraid of a conflict, that's not how we became a great nation, Chris.
WALLACE: But you're talking about getting potentially into a shooting war with Russia over Syria?
CARSON: Well, if we established a no fly zone and we make clear the rules, if they violate it, that's why you have a no-fly zone. That's the very definition of a no fly zone. You can't fly there.
Ben Carson was asked policy question about the kind of unexpected crisis that all presidents must deal with, and he showed that he is completely unfit for office.
Rambling about the size of the human brain is not answer to a question about continuing the policy of accepting Syrian refugees. The idea that the United States could get into a shooting war with Russia to protect a no fly zone in Syria was flat out insane.
Over the weekend, top Republicans privately admitted that they viewed both Carson and Trump as unfit to be Commander In Chief. Republicans are terrified that Trump or Carson will win their party's nomination and lead the party to a crushing defeat. After Carson's appearance on Fox News, he appears to be even less sane than Trump.
Ben Carson's success as a presidential candidate demonstrates just how crazy Republican voters have become.
Didn’t even have to duck, did you?
The reporter and quite a few on FR, it is clear.
No, no, no. That wasn’t the craziest comment. When asked repeatedly about what he’d do about the terrorists, to declare war or boots on the ground, etc. he stumbled around the question and finally decided he’d take it to social media.
Too bad the transcript didn’t continue to that part. Thanks for the info.
And doing left wing body slams on FR will inform low info voters exactly how? We're all pretty savvy here and all you're doing is causing hard feelings and a lot of anger among FReepers.
And YOU are calling a gifted neurosurgeon an idiot? Really?
exactly
A bit off topic, but maybe not......
What is it with all this fear of a war with Russia?
Since I was just a tyke, we have been preparing for a eventual clash with these bozos, but since Obama was elected, (perhaps it started during Bush's term), there has been all this anti war sentiment in the US and Europe that Putin is using to his advantage every day of the week. he is exploiting it just as his predecessors have done.
That's what Russians do! That's what they have always done and why we are often at odds with them to the point where I was taught to hide under my desk.
I soon learned that is would not have mattered.
What mattered was to have peace through strength. And if strength means pissing the vodka soaked Slavs off every now and then, I have no objections to it. It's far better then hiding under a desk with your head up your azz.
Hear hear!!!!
We'll see if anyone like Wallace buggers Rubio, Bush, or Kasich about it.
The post was comprised almost entirely of Ben Carson’s answers to questions on foreign policy. His own words are not left wing slams and they do inform voters of his positions, obviously.
I am saying his quotes in this interview and others demonstrate that he is not POTUS material, certainly not in these times.
BY the way, my use of the word “idiot” was in direct response to the poster I was answering who used that word.
They won’t. Fox is all in for Bush, Rubio and Kasich.
WWIII seems more, not less, likely if everybody thinks we won’t defend ourselves as is the case with Obama. I can recall liberals going bananas over Reagan saying much the same things during the Cold War.
I haven’t seen it reported anywhere but biggirl also heard him say that.
The brain comment made 100% perfect sense to me. He was commenting on the lack of rational thought in our society and politics, replaced by the anti-intellectualism of responding with emotionalism.
I hope you don’t seriously think that Carson is a match for Putin?? Carson is Obama/Carter.
Interesting, ain't it.
The post was comprised almost entirely of Ben Carson's answers to questions on foreign policy.
Then why not post it from Fox instead of using a left wing, set FR on fire, site? Because you're looking to incite.
His own words are not left wing slams
The headline is a left wing slam.
they do inform voters of his positions, obviously.
FReepers know Carsons positions. You're just enjoying the attack.
The brain comment also had absolutely nothing to do with the foreign policy question he was being asked.
What reason do we have to start WWIII? What would we gain? What would we lose by not starting WWIII?
What possible reason do we have to start a war with Russia? What?
This administration has already wrecked havoc on this planet by destabilizing the entire Middle East. And we want to start a pissing match with them because they’re getting a foothold in the swamp that America created? Too bad for us. We blew it.
I, for one, see NO reason to throw thousands of lives away for a war with Russia (and China) right now.
