The FBI was alerted after a large quantity of cell phones was purchased at several mid-Missouri Walmarts in the last week.
Early Saturday morning two "foreign speaking" men set off alarms after they entered the local Walmart store in Lebanon, Missouri and purchased 60 cellphones. The purchase was made around 4 AM in the morning. Police were called but released the men saying they didn't have a legal reason to detain them.
The Macon County Sheriff's office is investigating a second suspicious purchase of dozens of cellphones at the Columbia Walmart on Conley Road.
A third suspicious purchase was made at a Walmart in Macon, Missouri.
On Thursday a fourth Walmart in Jefferson City in mid-Missouri reported another bulk cell phone purchase.
Now this: Dozens of propane tanks were recently stolen near Kansas City. propane tanks FOX 4 KC reported:
Several Missouri law enforcement agencies have notified the FBI about a large amount of cell phone purchases from area Walmarts.
Now, another incident has some people wondering if we are in danger of a terrorist attack in our area. A large number of propane tanks have been reported stolen from several locations is Independence and Lee's Summit.
At the end of November, a BP gas station in Lee's Summit reported 18-20 propane tanks stolen from the outside cages. That same night the CVS on Southwest 3rd Street reported the exact same crime.
Two weeks later, the CVS on East 23rd Street in Independence was hit, and 28 tanks were stolen from that location.
Sources within law enforcement say they received an urgent safety email about the propane thefts.
While there are several ways those tanks and cell phones phones can be used, in this climate, terror attacks are always a consideration.
Don’t know, but Missouri is one of the states taking Syrian refugees.
Nope. Nothing. Also, weren’t we told that the shooter at the bank/parking lot/PP building had a tank of some kind?
“Only three of the menâs names were entered in the Border Patrolâs E3 reporting system, which is used by the agency to track apprehensions, detention hearings and removals of illegal immigrants. E3 also collects and transmits biographic and biometric data including fingerprints for identification and verification of individuals encountered at the border. The other two men were listed as âunknown subjects,â which is unheard of, according to a JW federal law enforcement source. âIn all my years Iâve never seen that before,â a veteran federal law enforcement agent told JW.”
Evidently, two of them were important enough or something that somebody with rank made the call that they didn’t even want the names of those two entered into the system.
There’s more:
“The disturbing incident comes just days after six menâone from Afghanistan, five from Pakistanâwere arrested in nearby Patagonia, a quaint ranch town that sits 20 miles north of the Mexican border city of Nogales. Federal authorities have confirmed the November 17 arrests and a local news outlet published a story that includes an official statement from the Border Patrol. Special Agent Kurt Remus in the Federal Bureau of Investigationâs (FBI) Phoenix headquarters told JW that the agencyâs Joint Terrorism Task Forces vetted and interviewed the six men and determined that there were âno obvious signs of terrorismâ so they were returned to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.”
Storage under the right conditions and using a rapid dispersal method could make it very possible. I would be more concerned with spore bearing bacteria like anthrax or typhoid which could be dispersed through the water systems of some areas. There are a lot of vectors available.
Have they found anything in that San Bernardino lake yet?
I don’t think so.
I'm petty thieves or meth lab owners would never think of doing such a thing..........
In regards to my last post, Missouri is one of the top states in the country with the most meth labs........
How many close calls have there been with drones at some major airports? Anybody think they’re all just hobbyists out flying their play toys in restricted air space? The terrorists don’t need pilots to crash planes, they just need drones to fly into them. Like gun laws, I’m sure the terrorist will obey all the laws to register their drones & not fly them where they shouldn’t (right? /sarc).
And there really is a cluster in the exact areas of the phone purchases.
Too coincidental.
Says questioned cell phone buyers were from Michigan.
"If we're going to prevent that next terrorist attack, especially the next terrorist attack in Columbia, Missouri, or Boone County, it's not going to be the FBI, it's not going to be law enforcement, it's going to be the viewers of this broadcast that are probably going to be the key to preventing."
Yesterday a link surfaced to this
... may be linked to that deer cam photo...
"Multiple propane tanks were found near the suspect's car, and authorities said they believed that he planned to fire on the tanks to cause an explosion."
