A 51-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of intentionally drowning her 4-year-old grandson in the bathtub, according to police in Fairfield, California, although some of her extended relatives can't believe such a thing from a woman they describe as loving and caring.
Dawn Diana Raines-Hewes of Fairfield was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of murder. She was booked into the Solano County jail and is being held without bail, police said.
Officials said Raines-Hewes' 4-year-old grandson drowned in a bathtub at a home in the 1400 block of Jefferson Street. Police were dispatched around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday and found the boy unconscious and not breathing. He could not be revived.
Authorities believe Raines-Hewes drowned the boy intentionally. Fairfield police officer Cleo Mayoral cited "evidence at the scene, including statements that were provided - statements from the grandmother herself."

Desperado
It being California, they’ll probably charge her with misdemeanor manslaughter and felony water waste.
If Obama had a sister.
needs a third eye.
Thought she was too young to be a gamma. Solved it
If this was due to untreated depression/ schizophrenia, it’s a shame she didn’t do something about her state before it reached this level. Maybe she never expressed her feelings to other people, only giving them the answers and reactions they expected.
She’s got those lyin’ eyes.
And her boob lifted by the looks of it!
Grandma at 47...too young? Not really.
The youngest grandmother I’ve ever known was 32 years old. She and her daughter were both 16 when they had their babies.
Just abount no one takes a good mug shot. Still, allowing for that, she looks disturbed.
Maybe people should raise their own kids instead of dumping them on Grandma. I swear, this is one reason I never had kids. You think you are done when they grow up? Nope. They expect you to take care of their kids too. Eventually, some women snap, and I don't approve, but I can see how it would happen.

Same father?
Just kidding...don’t hit me.
“evidence at the scene, including statements that were provided - statements from the grandmother herself.
What kind of evidence the article does not say.
I guess if she confessed its a done deal.
My experience tells me that those women who choose to be childless have chosen wisely. Being a parent is not for everyone.
But no one with kids actually believes it’s over when they are grown and have kids of their own.
Being a parent is a lifetime gig, and this dad of 3, grandfather of 4, would not have it any other way.
Snapping and murdering a grandchild is evidence of mental illness. It ain’t normal.
Needs a supportive bra.
Sorry you missed out on the beauty and joy of raising children...
My wife and I had six...each and everyone of them was told early on in their adult life, when they have children, we will not be the perpetual babysitter and daycare center...like so many of their peers treat their parents...
We are grandparents not the parents of their offspring... that's their job...
That being said we would never abandon our grandchildren to any broken corrupt child care state system if their parents could no longer take care of them...
Oh don't worry. I was 12 when my sister was born, and my mother felt my job was to be a part-time mom. I got plenty of beauty and joy, let me tell you.
