The Left May Come to Loathe Obama
Commentary ^ | 4 Dec, 2016 | NOAH ROTHMAN

As we glide with trepidation into another presidential election year, the American mood might be best characterized as apprehensive. The right, which has for nearly seven years eagerly anticipated the last moments of Barack Obama's presidency, is suddenly no longer certain that the next president could, at least, be no worse. Liberals, too, have their misgivings about the end of the Obama era; about Hillary Clinton, about the current president's legacy, and about the stability of the electoral coalition Democrats cobbled together in the last two presidential elections........The indications are already clear, however, that Democrats will come to see Barack Obama's presidency as a misguided failure - particularly if a Republican takes the White House in November.

At the beginning of WWII the leftists in the USA liked Hitler and Stalin. They only turned against Hitler because he attacked Stalin. Just like Hitler, the left hates the Jews.

At the beginning of WWII the leftists in the USA liked Hitler and Stalin. They only turned against Hitler because he attacked Stalin. Just like Hitler, the left hates the Jews.

The Harvard University administration during the 1930s, led by President James Conant, ignored numerous opportunities to take a principled stand against the Hitler regime and the antisemitic outrages it perpetrated, and contributed to Nazi Germany's efforts to improve its image in the West. The administration's lack of concern about Nazi antisemitism was shared by many influential Harvard alumni and students. A faculty panel that supervised a mock trial of Hitler in 1934 ruled that Hitler's anti-Jewish actions were "irrelevant" to the debate. Nazi leaders were warmly welcomed to the Harvard campus and invited to prestigious social events, as the Harvard administration strove to build friendly relations with thoroughly Nazified universities in Germany. By doing so, Harvard's administration and many of its student leaders offered important encouragement to the Hitler regime as it intensified its persecution of the Jews and strengthened its armed forces.

President Conant's insistence on treating Nazi academics as part of the "learned world," and his reluctance to offer faculty positions to prominent Jewish refugee scholars, was shaped in part by his own antisemitic prejudices. When the DuPont corporation sought his advice about hiring a German Jewish scientist who had fled the Nazis, Conant urged it not to employ him, noting that he was "very definitely of the Jewish type--very heavy." The scientist they rejected, Max Bergmann, was described by the New York Times as "one of the leading organic chemists in the world."

I’d rather see the new Pres work with Congress to pass a fast law abrogating all of Obama’s EOs and cancelling O’Care. Keep it all legal and constitutional. Restoring the rule of law should be the #1 goal of the POTUS as part of the effort to restore constitutional authority and supremacy.

By the left?

Oh, I doubt it.

Troof. These are the guys still trying to sell Jim Jones' old buddy, Harvey Milk, as a hero, and trying to make Dan Rather into a hero.

Never going to happen.

The left is insane enough to believe anything their elites tell them, so it will always be the fault of someone else.

They're really good at being stupid (and slightly insane) when it comes to that kind of thing.

Unwinding the Obama mess will be problematic. Couldn’t the new President say, the Executive Orders of Barack Obama were silly and unconstitutional. I thereby use my power to declare them null and void. Hence forth, we shall follow the Constitution, as I, and he, swore an oath to uphold. I dunno, it is tricky.

Watch for those Obama stickers.

I’ve seen some Bernie and some Trump. Thats it. I travel 2,200 miles a month.

People are being very less vocal. Especially the kids.

Obama delivered what he said he would, the idiots are just now finding out how stupid they are.

I would pass a law that allowed people to sue every politician that voted for 0bamacare. Excessive costs, lack of available care, mental anguish.

Yes. He has paved the way for imperial presidents in the future. He need only specifically name the EO’s that he is rescinding.

He can also eliminate most of Obamacare by directing the cabinet departments that administer it to no linger administer it. He can do that and then pass new legislation through the legislature to completely kill it.

Obama will be seen as a traitorous president who tried to harm this country.

He is a traitorous president who has greatly harmed his country.

I agree, what I intended to imply is that it was very intentional.

If that happens, it will only be after something catastrophic happens, of historic dimension.

But only if it happens before Obama leaves office, will he receive any amount of criticism.

Or an EO requiring all Federal employees, including all Congressional staff, to be in the exchange such time as the law is repealed.

That’s actually a pretty good article, worth the read, don’y be fooled by the brief excerpt!

The author talks about Obama’s “legacy” being nothing more than a series of executive actions that can be undone at the stroke of a Republican President’s pen.

The “expanded executive authority” can also be used by a Republican President - what’s to stop him/her from, say, appointing Sarah Palin as Environment Czar? Democrats in Congress would be screeching in frustration!

THAT, and more, is why liberals should be worried.

On live streaming video/tv Obama could eviscerate and entire convent of nuns while eating a baby from the womb and he would still pull 35%+ of the vote if he could run again.

They will never admit they might have been wrong. The absolute worst any Dem might have done is to have had misguided, yet altruistic ideals that Republicans stood in the way of. And any faultfinding cannot exclude pointing out that had the Republicans only cooperated with their lofty goals, nirvana would have been forthcoming. In their minds, no result can be thought of as wrong. The big secret is, there really can’t even be the concept of wrong (unless the deed was done by a Republican) because that would imply that there is a “right” (eg; correct, proper) If there were failures by some stretch of the imagination or using some form of measurement or comparison that would of course offend someone, or might, it was strictly the blame of the obstructionists. They only needed the right person to lead. They are hard wired. Unless you wanna talk about GWBush, there is no looking back, there is only looking forward. There is no accountability and there is no learning from history. History starts today. Intentions trump results. If the intention was good, the result is irrelevant.

Your first sentence says it all.

The left is never wrong and a liberal hasn’t the courage to admit it.

I know these people on a daily basis. They will claim they support a free society but have no idea what it means.

More than half support Rubio now. Go Figure.

“...Obama’s intended audience couldn’t be clearer: dispirited liberals. They are legion, and many acknowledge the president has already failed to meet their expectations.” Yea, only the future antichrist will do that. But Obama was definitely his understudy.

One problem: The Democrat minority in the Senate is absolutely certain to filibuster the rule of law.
