Benghazi 13 Hours Review
n/a

Posted on 01/16/2016 7:19:01 PM PST by ConservativeMan55

Just got out of Benghazi 13 hours.

Wow what a movie!

It was evident from the start this was an accurate portrayal.

The actual participants in Benghazi helped Director Michael Bay plot out the movie.

At times the characters/heroes were a bit hard to follow as one bearded dude looked just like the next.

But the overall story, plot and accounts were told perfectly.

From the beginning of the movie until the end you can see how higher ups were stifling the contractors and CIA Agents.

They also did a good job showing that each man had a family to come home to they loved very much.

Also during different times over the 13 hours multiple calls for help were made. Planes were shown sitting at the ready.

At one point those at the Annex are just asking for a simple flyover and they are told no.

These men and women were left to die while interrupting Obama and Hillary's scheming. (Gun running)

In the end as they're about to head home one of the survivors makes an interesting comment, almost an aside, but important nonetheless.

"Something's not right. How did those guys know our exact position? Something doesn't smell right."

Indeed.

What we know is Obama and Hillary were running guns/weapons in Benghazi to groups like Ansar al Sharia who is named in the movie as responsible for the attack.

What do you think? Did the deal go bad? Somebody didn't bring enough money and the Arabs felt screwed?

The movie didn't address it but hours before the consulate was attacked Chris Stephens was meeting with the Turkish ambassador.

Why??

Also what of the reports early on of militants at the compound being heard saying "Don't shoot! Morsi sent us!" There was a FR thread about this at one time.

The whole situation raises more questions than it does answers.

Why did Obama and Hillary pull security from the embassy weeks before the attack?

Was the attack a payment of some sort from Obama to the terrorist group?

What do you think??

At one point in the movie one of the heroes says "Am I the only one that feels like everybody knows what's going on here but us?"

To me it looks as if the CIA Contractors got in the way of Obama's plot.

Had the CIA Station Chief held them off an extra 30 minutes Stephens may have lived to tell the tale.

Was that CIA Station chief in on it? Why did he receive an award for essentially doing nothing??

Anyhow would love your thoughts!

Great movie!!

I was under the thought that any embassy, and it should apply to consulates, that they are per se actual places considered to be the home soil of said embassy's homeland. Any attack on a said embassy (or consulate?) can be considered an act of war.

Under Reagan he did this.

"The 1986 United States bombing of Libya, code-named Operation El Dorado Canyon, comprised air strikes by the United States against Libya on Tuesday, 15 April 1986. The attack was carried out by the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps via air strikes, in response to the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing." wikipedia

What the current administration did with or the way they handled the attack in Benghazi is STILL an act of treason that should be enforced old school style.

Yes..and no.
Trav knows more about this than I do.
(I’ll let him explain if he wants.)
The embassy was “Sovereign US soil”, but the CIA mission was pretty much an undisclosed and “nonexistent” site that falls under grey hazy area.
Secret sites may have special political disposition, may not.
Depends on alot of things.

Like I said, Trav would know more on that.
But, running weapons through Benghazi was shady, and likely violated some....local agreements and disposition of forces treaties if any existed?
Trav, any way to elaborate, correct, and make it easy to understand?

If you read the linked articles at #51, you will be, IMHO, fully up to speed. Even Ken Timmerman was hoodwinked by the “it was a problem at state” excuses for no outside rescue being sent. Read all the comments after Timmerman’s article where it’s obvious he has no clue about CBA and how the POTUS as CINC relationship to the military totally supercedes State or CIA in extremis.

But that night, our “top general” the CINC hid like a dirty coward, in order to not be pinned down to either grant or deny CBA. If he doesn’t give that order, IN WRITING, then the military can’t cross a national border without that nation’s knowledge and permission. Either way, it would be on the official record. Obama granted CBA. Obama did NOT grant CBA. Known to all, on the record.

With CBA, the CINC can order the OBL raid into Pakistan, or a rescue in Benghazi. For example, Reagan ordered the air raid on Libya after the German disco bombing. He didn’t get “permission” from the Libyans, or the State Dept, or the CIA! HE ORDERED IT! That is a classic example of “granting CBA.”

It’s all about CBA, and after three years, 99.9% of people still don’t get it.

It is not a narrow legalistic issue, such as “It’s an official, listed American consulate, therefore we have the right to go defend it.”

Reagan granted CBA and ordered our USAF and USN to bomb the crap out of Tripoli after the Berlin disco bombing.

Obama granted CBA and ordered the SEALS to get OBL.

The POTUS/CINC can grant CBA and order the USAF to bomb Teheran tomorrow if he wanted to. (Not that he would.)

Don’t get stuck in the weeds on things like “It depends on if it’s an official consulate or not.”

Obama could have and should have granted CBA. In under 2 hours from the first attack, F-16s would have been strafing the borders of the consulate, rotating in from Sigonella after their first flight from Aviano.

Shortly after, Spectre gunships from Sigonella would have been on station to blast the holy hell out of any attackers who got within a kilometer of the consulate. The Ambassador would have been saved, and the secret annex would have probably been kept secret.

But Obama hid like a dirty coward to avoid being pinned down to grant or deny CBA.

Something happened that wasn’t supposed to. Stevens was not supposed to be killed.

There are two main possibilities.

First, Stevens was supposed to be kidnapped and swapped for the blind Sheikh. The “attack” on the residence was a sham, until the Seals showed up and turned it into a firefight. The house caught fire, Stevens was trapped and died of smoke inhalation.

This scenario, though, would not explain what happened later that night.

Second (what I think happened) was that the attack was always directed at the “annex”, in order to seize whatever was in the “warehouse”, and the attack earlier on Steven’s residence was a feint, to draw security away from the “annex”. Things got out of hand at Steven’s residence because of unexpected resistance, and he died accidentally.

And not even one reporter has ever asked Obama if he granted CBA or rather, why he didn’t... not one has put him on the record. Nor has congress brought it up, as they are focused on their political interests rather than national interests.

We know he didn’t because there was no rescue from Sigonella, etc.

US MIL. invaded Grenada- OCT 25th: Operation Urgent Fury... in response.

WTF? Yeah. My thoughts exactly.

I'm STILL pissed off at Reagan for that swell smack-down, that we DIDN'T give to those responsible (IRAN) for killing our US Marines (OCT 23rd) in Beirut, AND the French Paras. in a separate attack occurring just 10 minutes later.

I was in a barracks about a quarter mile from Pope AFB's runways, and all night long (OCT 24th into OCT 25th) C-5 Galaxies and troop transport trucks came and went, signifying that an RDF was outbound. To a man, everyone around me was high fiving each other because we knew that payback for the murderers was underway. Imagine the shock and confusion when we learned that we had not gone to Beirut, but Grenada! GRRR!!!

If there is ANY country deserving an ass whipping by the USA, it's those Shiite muslim mo--er fu---rs.

End of RANT.

I saw it at noon on Saturday in CT. the theater was packed.

My husband and I saw it earlier today (Sunday) at Manchester (CT) Buckland cinema... theater was packed, even with the two NFL playoff games going on. Many wept openly at the end.

Loved the film, but I sure wish the blame was clearly put on Obama/Hillary, where blame belonged. They took nearly all of the politics out of it, when politics was the reason everything happened the way it did...
