I’m guessing the minor fluctuations back and forth between Cruz and Trump from day-to-day are the result of each side’s supporters getting sick of the barrage of anti-CandidateX links that seem to ebb and flow in a cycle of attack/defense/retaliation. It’s a pretty evenly matched tug of war. The next three days are going to be fun.

Tomorrow is Gasparilla here in Tampa, so my weekend will go by quickly. Thank The Lord, I’ll be happy when the next 45 days are over and there’s (hopefully) a clear leader ahead of the pack everyone can coalesce around (even if it’s begrudgingly) and some harmony will return. The fun starts in earnest on Monday, then we’ll finally know if polls are even close to reflecting reality.

Amen to that!

There is no sense in avoiding the fact that Trump will win the nomination.

Now today we have the Obama Admin saying that Clinton's emails are top security and can't be revealed.

Their polling tells them that it is a fact that Clinton cannot beat Trump.

It can only be that she will step aside, claiming health or something, and Biden most likely will be brought in.

The trillions of dollars that the TPP will mean for the globalists (Murdoch, Wall Street, GOPe & Dem establishment, K Street lobbyists) will necessitate Hillary being replaced. If not by Biden, then somebody else.

I also believe that will be the case, and that he'll go on to demolish whatever hapless socialist opposes him in the general.

The Dems are essentially trapped inside a house fire that they themselves set alight. I see no escape for them, which is why their bench is so devoid of any real talent, experience, star power, or leadership.

Any Dem who's in possession of any of those characteristics already understands what's happening, and has wisely stayed out of it.

I hope Jeb and Christie and Kasich stay in through Florida to keep Rubio at bay.

I hope Sanders trounces Hillary in Iowa and New Hampshire maybe bringing in Bloomberg to split the liberal vote.

I hope that Cruz ekes out a win in Iowa. Trump is certainly going to win NH. After that, I hope all of the other conservatives bow out and endorse one or the other.

I'm OK with Trump and Cruz duking it out for a bit longer.

It's basically a more tame version of Mardi Gras.

I skip the parade, but it's a good occasion to go hang out with friends and former coworkers at a respectable watering hole for a day of frivolity.

I think Trump can beat any democrat in the general election.

I do have some reservations about a Trump presidency though. Having said that, atm, beating Hillary and sanders is most important.

Sorry to be cryptic, but we are stil in the primary stage :)

You betcha. It's about damn time the liberal and RINO votes got split. They've been working that strategy against the patriotic right for far too long.

The good and decent citizens of America (who make up the largest plurality in the nation) haven't had political representation, or a President who gives a damn about us, in ages.

That alone, explains the strong appeal of a candidate like Donald Trump, who is a complete outsider, and a non politician. The people have put faith and trust in a never ending string of public 'servants' who've let us down and back stabbed us so consistently, that nearly ALL trust and faith in the breed has been lost.

Commentators have called this an "insurgency election", and they're right. Ideologically based politics is at the bottom of the pile in this election, because most people understand that the ship is on fire and taking on water. We need a captain who can think on his feet while giving the commands necessary to save us.

While a significant number of voters on the right are still fixated on ideological correctness, many more see that our entire system of government is fubar. They see that it's going to take a Boss of uncompromising determination and strength, to get in there and straighten it all out, before we can have the sort of orderly process where an ideologically correct conservative can run the show.

Thank you, as always, for the Caucus Discussion Thread, Windflier.

May I request a link to the Results Table? It has worked perfectly from here, but I haven’t been able to get the link on the voting thread to work yet. It comes up 404. (I think it might be some wonky thing with my computer. The Weather Channel site always comes up with Washington DC for the past week or so, too)

This sort of thing tends to happen; the link to the results page tends to be there before the actual page is ready. I tend to delay posting the table until the latest results page works (my later posting today was for other reasons).

The link for today worked like a charm, the next page went back to 404ing. I’m not sure it’s you.

Thanks much for doing this- you & Doughty One both & of course, Windflier for making a discussion thread. It’s fantastic!

I worry about comments like yours. I don’t want a Boss, there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians as it is. I have this sinking feeling that von Papen and Ludendorf were under similar delusions about Herr Hitler.

To my mind, there is too much about the Donald we don’t know, and what we do know is sketchy at best. I’m not looking for a saint, but, since when did we become willing to nominate a man who seems to have no moral compass? Since when did single payer health care become a policy of conservatives? Have you ever heard DT give a coherent explanation of the role of the executive? What departments will he cut, how many federal employees will he terminate?

I am glad that Trump is in the race. The attention that he has brought to immigration is laudable and has shifted the discussion. I would hold my nose and vote for him if he wins the nomination, but a prayer would be on my lips.

I am sure that I will be flamed. The attacks on anyone not taking the Trump jump here are nauseating. I have read posts wondering what the”Boss” will do to those who didn’t toe the line. That is scary crazy talk.

I will add one last observation. No plan ever survives first contact with the enemy. I will vote judging a person by their character, as that is my best guide for how they would handle a crisis. As always, my first question about any candidate is their position on the ongoing genocide of the unborn. If a candidate cannot recognize this as the single most important moral question of our time, then I have to question their whole worldview.

I don't want a Boss, there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians as it is.

Maybe I should define what I mean by "Boss".

I'm talking about a natural born leader. A person who can issue orders and get compliance from underlings, not because of his position in the hierarchy, but because of his positive personality traits. Someone who has the courage to stand up to the foes and enemies of the group, and by doing, graces those who follow him with a greater level of courage than they would ordinarily possess.

I think a Boss is a person who has the sort of inborn instincts that naturally hone in on those factors which are most threatening to the group's survival. Someone who has the sort of mental acuity and judgment which helps them to properly read such threats, then formulate and execute the best strategies possible, to deal with them.

When I think of a Boss, I think of someone who protects and guides those who follow them. Someone who is naturally looking out for their group's best interests, and who's willing to put every ounce of their vigor, determination, smarts, and influence, on the line in order to see to it that their people survive to the fullest measure.

If you've ever worked for someone who possessed the above qualities, then you know what I'm talking about. It's about the best experience one can have, while working for others. This also translates into the area of politics, though it's been a very long time since the very best people were routinely appointed by our people as their leaders.

In my mind, we're now blessed with a choice to elect such a man as our national leader. It's rare that Americans are offered the choice to choose such a person to lead our country. I sincerely hope we don't muff it, and elect yet another run-of-the-mill politician. Our country will surely not survive another.
