Comcast Outage Nationwide

Posted on 02/15/2016 8:42:36 AM PST by MrMarbles

Who else is having problems today with their Comcast TV? From what I'm seeing online it looks like a nationwide problem. I can't get through to anyone in customer support. Does anyone have any information from Comcast about this issue? Thanks.

OK here in NW Indiana, but I had a brief problem a couple of hours agowhen I first turned it on: black screen, then an active menu but the channels wouldn’t come up. My wife asked me how I fixed the TV. She had tried it earlier but couldn’t get it to work.

I stand corrected. Mrs. POF reports some of the upper channels such as 746 HGTV are out.

Thanks for posting this. I was trying to call re: my bill and was getting a busy signal so I told hubby they must be having some problems.

Internet is fine (I guess your’s is too since you posted this thread) and we don’t use them for TV.

Good luck - hope you get your service back soon.

There is no single point of distribution for Comcast. The chances of the entire US network being out is virtually nonexistent.

Your cable TV is out. It is not dialysis. Read a book.

I cannot believe I am defending this company. Xfinity is the name of the cable TV/broadband service of Comcast. Comcast now owns many different types of communication, cable, and broadband companies across the country.

Comcast ISP is working fine. I had to reboot my router about an hour ago, because I lost connection to the net, but it was a short outage, around five minutes.

I don’t have Comcast TV.

When it gets particularly cold the cable lines will actually shrink in length. We are you have copper lines in the distribution system those copper center parts of the wire will virtually shrink out of their connections. We used to refer to them as “suck out”.

As cold as it has been over the past few days it is amazing that any of these wires haven’t shrunk several inches.

I have to say my CenturyLink DSL is everything I pay for.

Must be nice. The flood wiped out six miles of fiber optics cable two and a half years ago and it looks like they have little intentions to replace it. They back feed through some undamaged lines which overloads them. Dish looks better every day.

There are a variety of choices all over the country. DirecTV and other satellite dish networks provide the same number or more channels for the same price. In most areas where you can get Comcast, you can also get Internet through a variety of DSL or fiber optic providers.

While you may only have one choice in direct cable television service to suggest that there are not alternatives just means you haven’t looked very hard.

Comcast is beyond bad. They are a criminal enterprise.

No surprise. They must have kept the unindicted/unconvicted executives of the nepotistic Adelphi Cable that they took over.

I used to live in Philadelphia and had a summer home in the Poconos, near Scranton. I certainly know the early days of Adelpia Cable.

We have Century Link for internet and it is so slow! Goes out at 3AM for a good 15-30 minutes. Cox used to be good here in AZ but so many have said it has gone downhill.
