FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - It's still dark out at this industrial port. Most passengers aboard the Oasis of the Seas are sound asleep in their staterooms.
But below deck the crew of one of the world's largest cruise ship is preparing to turn the vessel around. They have just ended a week-long voyage taking 6,222 people throughout the Caribbean. In just hours, another 6,114 will start their vacations.
Suitcases need to be unloaded and loaded. Piles of trash and recycling are removed and an entire week's worth of food for the passengers - and 2,193 crew members - needs to be loaded onboard.
The clock is ticking. There are just 10 hours to essentially empty and restock a small town. If that weren't enough, housekeeping needs to turn over 2,700 staterooms for the new guests.

Royal Caribbean Agents will straight up lie to you about their experiences.
I hope Oasis, and Allure sink to the bottom of the ocean.
Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll bow out now. ;-)
It's a floating city.
My brother served in the Navy for 20 years, part of it on an aircraft carrier. He said the same thing about that ship.
A top heavy disease ridden city.
I will pass thank you
Who the heck goes on a cruise to eat hot dogs?
Hopefully it ends up like Atlantis.
Are those cruise ship washers spraying the water?
I have friends that do/did cruises all the time.
When they had young ones they liked the fact the kids could roam free safely and there was plenty activities for them, like eat hot dogs.
That was 15 yrs ago not sure how safe ant tyke is anywhere these days
Thanks for posting.
I passed it along to one of my co-workers, who is a Royal Caribbean Diamond Club member. She’s been on this ship several times.
If I ever go on a cruise it'll be one of those barefoot / windjammer things where it is just a dozen or so people and you crew a sailing vessel. I know I know, who wants to go on vacation and work? Well, I think it would be neat to learn how the old sailing ships actually operate.
Do you have kids?
I was only on one cruise, and I enjoyed it. I’ve known a lot of people who go on cruises regularly.
It seems that cruise ships have had more problems in recent years. I wonder if statistics would support that general impression.
Elyssium ships.
Not interested.
whaaaat ? I don’t see gin on the list
What kind of drab meaningless life does one have to lead to regard a week on a cruise ship as “exciting”?
Youtube has lots of vids about cruise ships; the slickly produced ads by cruise ship lines, and home videos uploaded by passengers. The latter are not “the cruise from hell” variety, just ordinary folks partaking in cruise ship activities. Anyone contemplating a cruise should explore these vids.
Frankly, they can have it. Most activities other than eating are there to provide relief from boredom. Anyone who grew up watching “Love Boat” will be sorely disappointed by their fellow passengers. The crews & service staff are all Third World except for the captain. And one is paying for the luxury of being cut off from the world (cellphones don’t work unless one pays a small fortune).
Again, not for me. See America first.
Based on my unfortunate trip on my one and only cruise, apparently many of them.
This ship advertised 24/7 food...and these people tested that promise.
Nevertheless, they were pacing the deck like caged lions waiting for the breakfast lines to open at 7 sharp.
lol
