Here in the Colorado Rockies just west of Denver we have had about 12 inches overnight and today. It is still snowing pretty hard.

I’d be worried more about the melting afterwards with the warmer weather to follow...flooding
That is less than we have here today where I live in Colorado. This week in 2003 we had a snowstorm that dumped 5 1/2 feet at my house.

I remember one time a storm hit Mar 31 into Apr 1 here in Boston area—close to 2 feet of snow. Many ballgames postpones in northeast, etc.; but the snow melted fairly quickly. We have had very little snow this year; last year it was about 107”; this year maybe 25” so far per season. Usual is about 42” per season.

They said on the news this afternoon that there was an avalanche at Loveland Pass. Is this true? We have friends skiing during spring break who were trying to head back to Texas today. Other friends are in Florida and trying to figure out how to get back from there since I-10 is closed due to flooding at the Texas/Louisiana line area. All this global warming is making travel difficult during spring break.
Worst thing about the flooded area is that we have a local crawfish festival this weekend and we needed those Louisiana crawfish yesterday!
I remember that storm well - we got three feet in the hills northwest of Boston. It was the heaviest and wettest snow I ever recall. I couldn't plow our gravel driveway as the ground had thawed. With me missus unable to make it home, the dog and I holed up in the house for three days reenacting The Shining while we waited for the snow to melt.
I’m going to encourage my niece to work from home on Monday.
