This is one of my favorite Orchestral Music pieces of all time. I know every note of this.
I found this to be a particularly lovely version, and the camera work highlighting the members of the orchestra is nice too!

Just a little break from politics.
Awesome find - thanks for the share!
A good idea. I just finished listening to another of my favorites Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring prior to finding your post.
I am so happy to find someone whose tastes are like mine...Jazz, Rock, Classical, and about everything in between.
A lot of folks center on just one genre, which is good too, as long as they scorn people who like other types of music.
I have just one lind I don’t care for too much..Rap. Probably because it has no MELODY! LOL!
Either conductors are getting a lot younger, or I’m getting a lot older :-/
(Thanks for the post!)
I am not a big fan of Copeland, but I do like Appalachian Spring.
The main theme is from a Shaker Hymn.
This is in a fine tradition of “lifting” traditional melodies and making them shine in a new setting, a practice that was used by Brahms, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, and other Greats.
The whole orchestra looked like they were just out of college.
But, I grew up with Arthur Fiedler and harry Ellis Dickson...and they were BORN OLD! LOL!
My Pleasure! I’ll keep doing this, if you like.
Informal, Joyous, Classical Music Ping.
Here’s an age appropriate orchestra and conductor...not “classical” in the strictest sense, but a beautiful piece nonetheless:

Now, That’s how I remember the orchestras of my youth!
Lots of old bald white guys!
LOLOLOL
That is really nice music, BTW.
Ennio Morricone and I have pretty much the same haircut these days, lol.
That piece is from the soundtrack of the movie, “The Mission,” which I can highly recommend, btw, if you’ve not seen it.
Simple gifts.
Yet another movie to put on my Netflix Queue!
Thanks for the tip!
Yes indeed.
You’re quite welcome!
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this made my day!!!
LOVE it... and thanks for the delightful break from politics!!...
Movie Music can be wonderful. I like the soundtracks from Dr. Zhivago (Maurice Jarre), Lawrence of Arabia(Jarre), Year of Living Dangerously(Vangelis), and The Ten Commandments(Elmer Bernstein)
And of Course, all the Spaghetti Westerns with the aforementioned Bald White Guy! :-)
Looks like a lot of people needed that break! I am humbled and overwhelmed by the positive response to this thread.
(((HUGS)))
Thanks! Also a great favorite of mine. It was the first classical recording I owned.
