[2011] Trump: I Cheered for Obama, but He's Dangerous

Donald Trump recalls with chagrin that he supported Barack Obama for president in 2008, but says he now realizes that those moving hope-and-change speeches were nothing more than rhetoric.

"I thought he was a positive person, always," Trump said of candidate Obama. "I thought he'd be like a cheerleader for the country. I think he is creating a class warfare that is a very dangerous thing for the country."

And the country "is blowing up" because it's so deeply divided, he said.

"I've never seen this country in this kind of trouble before, and a true leader wouldn't let that happen," he said.

Who knows? Trump is always rewriting his history, and the suckers on FR buy it.

“I too after Obama got elected thought maybe, just maybe there was a chance Obama was right and he would be the guy to bring people together unlike Bush.”

Before you vote again, please study the candidates and issues.

And don't vote for Trump.

Kudos to Sean Hannity back in the 2008 election. He rang the bell loud and long about OBammy’s shady connections and past— Rev Wright, Bill Ayers, Frank Marshall, etc..
Sean wasn’t the only one but he was like a daily bulldog on the topic. He’s been great this election cycle too.

It does take judgment to be a good President. Anyone with any smarts and judgment knew that Obama was one of THE most extreme leftist senators in the country. Obama opposed partial birth abortion restrictions.... oh wait...

So you and Mr. Trump were two of the Doofusses who couldn’t see through Obama’s BS in 2008?

And you’re bragging about it?

Here’s your sign!

"Before you vote again, please study the candidates"

This has nothing to do with my vote. After Obama won we had no choice but to hope for the best and see what he could do, and by the time my primary came around the RNC had already selected McCain. Blame the early primary voters and the Never McCain people

"And don't vote for Trump."

If you plan on giving us Hillary by not voting for Trump, you are a fraud.

The whole country cheered for Obama initially. We at Free Republic were very much in the minority opinion back then.

No they didn’t
He won with 52 percent. Only democrats and brain dead republicans voted for the guy......which one does trump belong

You guys have to understand that Cruz will never pull enough indies/dems to beat Hillary, especially after the media nukes him with the adultery and other dirt they have in the bullpen.

So you must WANT Hillary? I know many neocons quietly want this but what conservative American would?

He did endorse McCain, but also donated to Shuemer, Weiner, Pelosi, Reid, and other liberal democrats. He needs to explain why he so fully supports crony capitalism.

You have a memory problem too. The GOP was crushed in 2006 and 2008.

Any person who ever had the idea that Obama would be a good President should never be our President. Seriously, how can any Trump supporter that is truly a conservative overlook this glaring red flashing light?

He beat McCain by almost 10,000,000 votes btw and ended up with more than two as many EVs. and we continued to lose House and senate seats.
