Why the hatred?
me

Posted on 04/26/2016 6:06:22 PM PDT by tarawa

Why are we seeing so much hatred this time around in regard to our potential candidates? I don't care for Trump and certainly would have trouble voting for him, but you would not catch me saying the sort of things about him or his supporters that we usually reserve for those trying to rend the country in two and destroy what is left of our liberties. The things I see said about Cruz and those who support him serve no good purpose, and yes similar things are said about Trump and his supporters, but not to nearly the same extent. Aren't we supposed to be on the same side here? This has gone beyond disagreement into absolute hatred. This is the reason the liberals win elections, because conservatives become so fractured that they cannot compete. The GOP left conservatives behind a long time ago, but with this bickering and infighting, all we are doing is letting them destroy us.

The rift is because of the differences between idealists and realists. The realists have gone over to Trump because he's a viable candidate that has broad support. The idealists will not shake loose of Cruz until Hillary is in the WH - then they'll likely blame Trump and his supporters.

Some folks "principles will not allow them to stick with reality and they are desperately flailing about trying to justify their stance despite what reality is telling them - they started getting nasty and there was a predictable backlash.

I hear salt brine solution is good for toughening the skin....

You are selective in your sight. Cruzers have been wicked to Trumpers.

Anyway, it’s not good either way but that is politics. It’s not a tea party. And my mom always warned me not to discuss religion or politics in public because you get attacked. : )

You're 100% right. I've never seen our side so divided in my life. No way is this a good thing.

I still don't trust Trump but unless he does something completely outrageous I plan to vote for him in the general. I hope Trump supporters will do the same for Cruz as well. And for the record, I've been disappointed by some of his behavior this season as well.

We're going to have to unite in the end or prepare for eight years of Hillary, G-d forbid!!!

Sure

Fiorina the darling of the GOPe as his running mate?

Feeding Cruz delegates wherever they can

They determined long ago he’s far better than Trump to them because he’s one of them

Working with Kasich

Neil Bush as captain finance guy

And Cruz ain’t in with establishment

You’re simply wrong

They see him as a self aggrandized hard to control but he’s still one of them

A lifetime politician or operative from Texas

This notion he’s not is a talk radio canard because they do live Ted so

I supported him very very early

He is a yuge disappointment

Especially Chicago

He’s just a schmuck

“What nonsense. The GOPe hates Cruz.”

Maybe on a personal level, but it sure looks like they are working with him to keep Trump from gaining 1237.

My guess is once the GOPe is certain of that they will turn against Cruz in an instant.

The main problem with that agenda (aside from the obvious despicable and unethical one of purging conservatives from a 'conservative' forum)....is that you Trump guys are going to need every single one of those voters and their votes and support that you are driving away if you hope to win the GE. Then again, perhaps some of you already know (and are counting on the fact) that Trump won't stand a chance in the GE due to all of the alienated folks on the right, eh?

One would think that you guys would be very nice, right about now, to anyone on the right that has been a Cruz supporter (Cruz being summarily eliminated from the first ballot)....and that you would be trying hard to GET their votes in the upcoming election this November. Guess not.

Cruz is a fundamental enemy of our Constitution.

For all of his expressed ‘conservatism’ and catering to such who are inherently principled and have an affinity for the product of the Founders who composed one of the greatest secular documents in human history, Cruz is indeed its most significant threat.

Cruz knows his proper place in the order of things yet he is dismissive of the established protocols which he pretends to embrace.

I would spit in his face given the opportunity but not before verbally expressing my contempt for his attempted unraveling of our foundation.

None before him have achieved such status while hypocritically dismissing that entire society which made his ascension possible.

I hate his freaking guts,
