On the bright side, Cubans are a big improvement over the usual Salvadoreans in that area. Some crazy percentage of the former population of El Salvador now lives in northern VA, like 20% or something.
It’s not just Cubans.In my city obama/democrats have brought in immigrants from every country in Africa and the middle East and Mexico and Latin America and Asia so it seems to me. Ethiopians, Nigerians, Mexicans , Nicaraguans, Pakistanis, Syrians(recently Obama did that), Palestinians, every Muslim country etc.

they’re willing to work for less than $15/hr. in the current unhappy state of gov’t affairs, we pick our poison. we can have cuban refugees, or $20 big macs.
So, I had this anecdotal economic indicator I have used for many years.
I’m not sure if it still works, but;
If the general competence and quality of service I received from a “Fast Food” drive thru was really bad, I knew our overall economy was good.
Conversely, If the quality of service was really good, our economy was in really bad shape.
Soon to be replaced by robots.
How good was their English? There are many in South FL and other places.
Cubans, I asked them where they were from and they were proud to say Cuban.
