Mormon theology. They want more immigrants on the belief that they can be converted to mormonism.That is the driving force behind mormonism....more converts being sucked in, more fools paying the requisite 10% tithing%, having more babies to grow up and pay THEIR 10% plus.

Uhh. That’s not the sense I intended my comment. The desire to convert heathens is a good reason to favor immigration. And I wish my church would take proselytizing as seriously as the LDS does. I just don’t think the potential upside merits the risks and costs of immigration.
