The knives are out to sabotage Donald Trumps nomination, defying the wishes of the record number of Republican primary voters who chose him.
Pols who backed losing candidate Ted Cruz are mounting a sour-grapes campaign to rig the Republican National Convention rules. Their goal is to deny Trump the nomination. Meanwhile, in Virginia, a state where Trump came in first in the primary, a lawsuit filed Friday by an anti-Trump pol claims he and fellow delegates should be free to ignore the voters and follow their own conscience when they choose a nominee at the Convention.
Be prepared for more whining and skullduggery ahead, as an embittered minority of Republican insiders tries to derail Trumps unorthodox candidacy.
This unsavory drama will play out between now and the Conventions start on July 18.

Any decision by the Rules Committee has to be approved by a vote of the whole convention.
*****************
Correct they have to be adopted by the Convention.
The Clintons rival the most corrupt leaders in history. A special prosecutor would lock her up and her accomplices.
ANYONE who would want such a person in charge of their country is certifiable.
Romney and Ryan are certifiable.
At this point, I’m not sure if the GOP nomination would be an asset or a liability for Mr. Trump.
Hear, hear!
We lose the country. Not willing to risk it.
Trump will prevail, at the convention and in November.
WASHINGTON - Today Chairman Priebus announced the Chairs of three of the Committees of the Republican National Convention. Former Governor of New Hampshire John Sununu will chair the Committee on Rules and Order of Business, also known as the Rules Committee. Former RNC Chairman and Kentucky National Committeeman Mike Duncan will lead the Committee on Credentials. Zoraida Fonalledas, National Committeewoman for Puerto Rico, will head the Committee on Permanent Organization.
“These three individuals will provide outstanding leadership for our convention committees,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “They have served the Republican Party admirably over the years, and they bring a wealth of experience to the committee process. Working together, we will ensure our National Convention is the finest in history and worthy of the next President of the United States.”
“I am honored that Chairman Priebus asked me to Chair the Committee on Rules and Order of Business,” said Governor Sununu. “The decisions made by the Rules Committee will have a tremendous impact on our Party’s capacity to do great things in the future. I look forward to working with the members on the Committee to produce a set of rules that will guide our Party as we work to better our country.”
“It is my privilege to serve as Chair of the Committee on Credentials,” said Chairman Duncan. “We will do our part to make sure the Convention is properly constituted with the Delegates and Alternates to nominate the next President and Vice President of the United States.”
“As National Committeewoman for Puerto Rico, it is a great honor and privilege for me to serve as Chair of the Committee on Permanent Organization for the 2012 Republican National Convention,” said Committeewoman Fonalledas. “I am looking forward to a great convention that will energize and unite all Americans.”
Committee on Rules and Order of Business (Rules Committee)
The RNC Rules Committee has been reviewing and modifying the Rules of the Republican Party for the past three years. These amendments will be presented to the RNC and then to the Convention Rules Committee, which will review these changes and propose final Rules, as amended, for adoption by the convention.
Committee on Credentials
The Credentials Committee will receive the credentials of each delegate filed in accordance with the Rules and submit the temporary roll of the convention, which will have been previously reviewed by the RNC. The Credentials Committee may hear and resolve appeals to the ruling of any contest adjudicated by the RNC Committee on Contests, as to the seating of delegates to the convention.
Committee on Permanent Organization
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus selects a number of convention officers, including the Permanent and Temporary Chairmen, the Secretary and the Sergeant-at-Arms. The Permanent Organization Committee will meet at the beginning of the convention to review the slate and make its recommendation to the convention.
Speaking of Virginia, the anti-Trumpers have a successful model for this intraparty sabotage from what the RINOs did to Ken Cuchinelli enabling, ironically, Clintonista Terry McAuliffe to win the governorship. No doubt those same delegates claiming they shouldn't be bound by the Virginia primary were part of the anti-Cuchinelli effort.
I really hope so.
This antitrump movement in the republican party is proof that the all the elitists want is power. I wasn’t a Trump supporter but by golly he won the nomination and I am going to fight for him tooth and nail. Trump is kind of a Teddy Roosevelt in the Republican party. He is a populist reformer who is making a lot of Rinos sick like Ryan, Bush(et al), George Will, , etc. Trump carries most of my hopes and dreams on his back, now. Anyone with a moral IQ above zero must and should vote for DJT!
I voted for Cruz in the primary, but if the delegates were to dump Trump, why would they go to Cruz as a replacement?
Yes, Cruz came in second, but that reasoning doesn’t hold up when you’re dumping the guy who came in first. Cruz is said by the conventional wisdom and elites to be the second-most unelectable Republican. So if you’re dumping Trump mostly because you think he can’t beat Hillary, then whey go with the guy who is the next least likely to beat Hillary?
Does anyone internalize history or still have a memory?
In 1964 the No. East R Establishment left, among them Rockefeller/NY, Scranton/Pa, Cahill/NJ, Richardson/Ma and Romney/Mich( father of the current scumbag); produced TV ads forcefully attacking the character of GOP nominee Barry Goldwater; a distinguished USAF Brigadier General. Thus insuring his crushing defeat by Baines Johnson.
I loathe these GOPe people.
Not only that, but Mitt's Dad helped form a movement called Republicans and Independents for Johnson.
Sound familiar?
We are not as gullible or believe the MSM like we once did. If the globalists want another civil war, they just might get it.
Get lost. Sabotage is against those of US who voted for Trump.
YOU get the f##k lost! You don’t know sarcasm when you see it?
Hey potty mouth, you advocated sabotage. To see what happens. These pretend conservatives need no encouragement to rebel. They are bought and sold empty suits.
My grandmother was an alternate from Colorado in 1936. She told me about a lot of stuff.
One thing. Trump may have similarities to Goldwater. But Hillary is no LBJ. Bill, maybe, but Hillary? LOL No way.
Methinks you’re a little paranoid, but whatever. Maybe take some extra time to relax and enjoy the fireworks on the 4th - that might help.
