Two men fall off cliff near San Diego while playing Pokémon Go
ENCINITAS, Calif. Two men apparently fell from a cliff above a beach near San Diego on Wednesday while they were playing Pokémon Go, according to KSWB.
The men were playing the game in Encinitas when they fell more than 75 feet to the beach below. According to officers, the men got distracted while trying to catch Pokémon.
Crews at the scene used a rope to rescue one of the men. Neither man was seriously injured.
It was released on July 7 and has been downloaded over 10 million times to Android and Apple devices.
Players capture the virtual creatures and can amass a collection and train them to battle Pokémon held by other players.
The game is currently only available as an app for smartphone holders in Australia, New Zealand, the U.S., Germany and the U.K.
Since the launch of the game, several stories concerning safety have emerged. Police near St. Louis warned fans this week of Pokémon Go after multiple armed robbers apparently used the app to target victims.
In early July, officials say a 19-year-old girl in Wyoming found a body floating in a river while she was trying to catch a miniature monster in the mobile game Pokemon Go.
The game has been a nuisance for several parks and museums. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington a PokeStop in the game where players can get free in-game items. However, museum officials asked gamers to not visit the site while playing.
The game seems disrespectful, especially in more solemn parts of the complex like the Hall of Remembrance, museum communications director Andrew Hollinger told The Post.
Some people always prove their inate stupidity...
What a garbage activty
I’d hit it...
Dammit. Then why is this even a story. Get my hopes all up and whatnot.
Cause of death: Pokémon
That is just embarrassing for 2 reasons. First you fell off a cliff because you were not looking ahead and second you are men playing Pokémon.
ISIS smacks it’s toweled head in bafflement. “You mean this is all it takes to get western devils to walk off of the nearest high cliff? A Pickachu? We could have saved billions of dollars in armory and man hours. Take me, President Trump, I give up!!”
I live close to “downtown” and am stunned by the number of young adults wandering around playing this game during the day. Granted, it increases at night, but, I keep wondering if the daylight hour players are shift-workers or just on the dole?
Those two definitely wont become “royal crown chinpokomon masters” with skills like that.
My first thought as well.
We should start a pool.
Not for a lawsuit, but for when the Makers will “Pull” the app.
I’ll say Monday July 18th at 8:30 am EST.
Another one of those fads sweeping the country, with millions wasting money, time, and brain matter.
Keeps their minds off killings of cops, the failed obammy presidency and the herds of savages streaming into the country.
But seriously is it any worse than pole sitting, dance marathons, hula hoops, phone booth stuffing, CB radios...disco...
Nevermind. Don’t answer that.
Some guy here walked right into a canal...ROFL...sorry but that was funny...
Somewhere in some cruddy desert, ISIS computer programmers are ripping off this game......
For some reason I’ve completely forgotten what this thread is all about.
A little over 70 years ago men were storming the beach in Normandy.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Technology. Thinning the Herd. Weekly.
