Where are the Cruz Supporters on FR?

FR brothers and sisters, this thread is for all the Ted Cruz supporters.

I'm a proud Texan, and ashamed of Ted Cruz. I am supporting the Trump / Pence ticket all the way. This experiment in a republic form of government with limited federal controls will not survive a Hillary presidency. I believe in my heart that Trump will be a transformational president. The good he'll do will outlive his Trump Towers.

As for Ted, I don't think he'll win another election here in the great state of Texas. That being said, there are FReepers who still support Ted. I'd like to hear from you. Why are you still defending or supporting Ted? What about this man and his behavior still draws your support for him at the cost of our republic. Because, that's what at stake in this election.

I am a Cruz supporter and will vote for Trump enthusiastically. Would I write in Cruz?

No because the election is not about me but it is about the country and its future direction.

The competitors were not required to endorse Trump and Ted took that route. Trump was fine with that.

I think Ted will be back, he is young and this is his first run.

I am looking forward to voting for him.

I supported Ted over Trump and I still would. Trump reminded me of Obama. The vitriol for anyone who didn’t support Trump, especially Cruz supporters, were enough to send them packing away from Trump regardless if he one. Attempting to destroy one who disagrees with you won’t win allies in the fight against the democrats. You can already read some remarks in this thread that there is still a contempt for Cruz and his supporters. Trump approved Cruz’s speech but his people were out working the crowd to get the boos and jeers he wanted for the show. I’ll still vote for Trump but not out of a sense of devotion.

Yes he did. Cruz is the one that stared it with the pics and comments about Melania. You are the one trying to revise history.

I was born in England. I went to grade, middle and high school in Texas. I started college in Texas. I joined the military in Texas. Why is Cruz a Texan?

I left out the attack on his father as well, which was a low point for Trump’s campaign. Still, if Sen. Cruz’s anger regarding the attacks on his wife and father were such that he was going to be unable to make an endorsement, he should not have accepted the speaking engagement. Those problems between the two camps should’ve been healed in private.

"In War: Resolution. In Defeat: Defiance. In Victory: Magnanimity. In Peace: Goodwill." -- Winston Churchill.

These kinds of threads are unhelpful to the cause and need to stop.

Whatever you may think of Romney, he was right about one thing: The Enemy starts with a base somewhere around 47%. We are going to need every vote for Trump we can get, and gloating is not going to get any. Cruz lost, Trump won. Try to behave like a winner.

Any Texan should understand that a Texan can not and will not ‘endorse’ someone who said his wife is ugly.

But insinuating that someone's wife is loose is fine and dandy?

BTW, could you cite where Trump said that Cruz's wife was ugly or did you come to that conclusion yourself and project it onto Trump?>

Most of them either have been zotted or are taking a sabbatical from FR until after the election.

I supported Cruz until the day he withdrew, and I still believe his policy prescriptions are far better than Trump's.

But when Cruz decided to welsh on his pledge to support the candidate, the only decent course of action was to stay out of Cleveland and shut up.

He failed to do that, and I can no longer support him in future.

I am sorry I offended your SJW feeling, precocious little snowflake. I know any violation of political correctness woulds your soul. Better go pray to your shrine to Rigoberta Menchu.

This could have been avoided if we would abide by Reagan’s
Eleventh commandment:

“Thou shalt not speak ill of any Republican.”

Let Cruz go. Let Trump go. We get nothing by beating on them. Mark it down as a lesson learned.

LOL, now I see why you’re such a big Cruz supporter - you have no problems lying.

I stated that globalism is the biggest threat to the country and that nothing else was even close. Without the stop of globalism, there won’t be a country left.

What is your problem with that? Why are you acting all crazy?

Trumpholes swarm at any post or comment even mildly critical of their Orange God. FR isn’t as bad as Gateway Pundit, Conservative Treehouse, or Breitbart, but it’s getting there. I’m spending more time at Right Scoop, Moonbattery and Red state these days.

I did watch the speech. Overall, I liked what I heard. Quite inspiring in places and reminded me of why I did (and still do) support him.

As for the reaction to Cruz’s non-endorsement, how could anybody be surprised? Between the Heidi pic tweet and the Rafael Cruz conspiracy nonsense, Trump had basically dropped several nukes on a possible congenial relationship with Cruz. He should have publicly apologized or walked that stuff back. When he didn’t, I knew the cake was baked. Sometimes you can cross too many lines, even in a political campaign.

Even the speech itself, with Cruz congratulating Trump, Cruz’s statement of some of Trump’s key points (like building the wall), heck even saying “vote your conscience,” could easily have been co-opted by the Trump campaign and touted it as a quasi-endorsement. They should have done that. They shouldn’t have even acknowledged it as a non-endorsement. And given that Trump okayed the speech in the advance just makes things even stranger. If the speech was so bad, why would Trump *himself* let it be made?

Overall, it’s just a bunch of wasted fury. I’m voting for Trump, but there are things he could have done to make bringing the party together a whole lot easier.

Globalism. Nothing else comes anywhere close.

You are 100% wring, you are just talking about a symptom, not a cause. You will never push back globalism, if you won't even fight the enemy. You think if you are politically correct and do what the leftists tell you, they will reward you with their table scraps.

Sorry, you are being a dupe. The appeasement you advocate never works. But hey, if you think total surrender is going to work, go for it. Better start covering your car in bumper stickers.

I’m a Cruz supporter. I just don’t come to FR all that often any more due to the vitriol.

Yes, in November I’ll probably vote for Trump over Hillary. But to me it’s like voting for death by burning or death by lethal injection. Yes if it came down to it, one is clearly more preferable than the other, but in the end both option are pretty horrible.

“Trump said horrible things about Ted’s wife”
_____________________________________________________

Not trying to be an antagonist but I keep reading this and wonder exactly what terrible things Trump said about Cruz’ wife?

I don’t recall it.

I am still a Ted Cruz supporter but I will vote for Trump. For those on this site who are claiming that he committed political suicide ask yourself this:

If Trump/Pence wins and they are as successful as we hope and Trump runs for re-election, what chance would Ted have anyway in 2020? If Trump decides not to run then the obvious replacement would be Pence. So effectively Ted’s chances at the Whitehouse is 12-16 years out.

Also, why do any of the hardcore Trump supporters here who have made a game out of trashing Ted and his family really care if he supports Trump. I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around that. Were any of you going to pop open the champagne and say “Yeah we got Lyin Ted to endorse Trump”?

Politics is a blood sport and there is no denying that there is bad blood between Ted and Trump. Even today, Trump is out making statements about NATO that give some people pause, or other statements that he will go it alone as a free agent if the republicans lose the senate and the house. So I get trashed as some anti-Trump guy because I am concerned when I hear these things?

That is appearing to be typical of Cruz. I read an article the other day that discussed Falwell’s endorsement of Trump. Apparently Cruz launched his campaign (or close to it) at Liberty University and a month later ran into Falwell at a party and didn’t know who he was. Cruz is that big of a narcissist.
