Americans got a raise in 2015 -- their first significant pay hike in eight years -- as the U.S. median household income rose 5.2% to $56,516, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

But income of the typical U.S. home still remained below that of 2007, the year before the most recent recession, when median household income was $57,423. That was the last year that U.S. homes saw a significant annual increase, the bureau said.

In 2014, the median income was $53,718, the bureau said in its report Income and Poverty in the United States: 2015, released Tuesday.

Income in the median U.S. household peaked in 1999 at $57,909, the bureau says. The median is the middle point in which half of households would make more money, while half would fall below that point.

Well, then, we should start to see millions of people coming off EBT and other public aid, any minute now, right?

It’s election time. Just like in 2012 with the unemployment figures, one should take these with a grain of salt.

Liars figure, figures lie. It’s a sad day when the unemployed and out of work professionals who have endured this administration have to read bull crap like this. It’s a kick in the **** for them.

And let’s not forget the displaced under paid workers earning half of what they should be because of these lies. I bet the coal industry workers are really happy to see these numbers too!

Agreed. I guess we all now should be as rich as that guy Rodney Dangerfield played in “Caddyshack”, lol. That’s why the medical basket case has to be President.

Do they just count those who own a home? If they do, then all those people who went broke and lost their homes would not be counted. Ergo, skewed results. Skewed to make things look better than they are.

But, I don’t know. Government has never lied to us before.

All the people who used to own a house and lost it due to having a low household income have been moved out of the equations.

No house and no job means you don't count in household income figures any more...

:D

When overhead is higher income has to be higher. Middle income families are working two jobs to cover the cost of...OBAMACARE!

###Do they just count those who own a home?####

This is a good point and I’m curious to find out what they skewed to come up with this -— All I know if I’m making less and less year after year in sales (take home) because of all the rise in healthcare, food, taxes, etc.
