Defeat after defeat on Tuesday has left the Democrat Party in shambles. So much so they cannot decide on a leader. Rep. Nancy Pelosi has led the House Democrats since 2002 while Sen. Chuck Schumer will replace Harry Reid as Senate Minority Leader.
But now the Democrats have delayed a vote on leadership in the House, possibly a sign that Pelosis time has ended. In the Senate, anti-Trump protesters in DC have begun protesting Senator Shumers new role.
A group of nearly 30 Democratic members of Congress wrote a letter to the top Democrat in the House, Nancy Pelosi, asking for a delay in congressional leadership elections for the next Congress.
It is vital that our Caucus take the time to listen to the American people and learn the lessons of this difficult election in order to put our Caucus in the best position to fight the potentially dangerous agenda of President-elect Donald Trump and to have a realistic chance of taking back the House in 2018, the members wrote.
Early Tuesday morning the House Democrats decided to officially delay the vote until Nov. 30 after Pelosi expressed a willingness to do so. This would allow a challenger to build a case against Pelosi.
Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan is one who has thought about challenging Pelosi for the job:
I got a few calls saying, We need someone from the Midwest who is a good communicator who can help us win seats in tough areas around the country, Ryan said of possibly taking on Pelosi, adding he hasnt heard from her office yet.
But like I said, the discontent spread to the Senate as well. Young liberals have invaded Schumers office because they do not want him as minority leader.

Yes, you guessed it. They are Bernie Sanders supporters. Sanders remains popular, especially after leaked emails and phone calls over the summer showed the DNC actively working against him to prop Hillary Clinton as its nominee.
Allies of Sanders have started to pressure Schumer to make him chairman of the Democratic Policy and Communications Center, a powerful position with influence over the partys messaging and floor strategy. The Hill reports:
Sanderss allies say he would be a good choice for the third-ranking position because he had phenomenal success mobilizing voters during the Democratic presidential primaries. That showed he knows how to put together a message that resonates, they argue.
The Senate Democratic leaderships focus on the Supreme Court and Republican obstruction of Merrick Garland, President Obamas middle-of-the-road nominee to the court, fell flat with voters this year, they note.
Liberals want Sanders or Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), both high-profile critics of Wall Street, to play bigger roles in the Senates leadership.
Protesters will not receive their wish since Sanders has backed Schumer for minority leader."
In all seriousness, are there any real statesmen left in the Dem party?
James Webb
Webb is a loon and violent thug.
To say that Garland is “middle of the road” is pure Bullshiit.

Translation: We screwed up royally. The voters are not as stupid as they used to be and they didn’t buy our propaganda that we had the media put out for us. Now our jobs are in danger and we need to circle the wagons and come up with some new lies to tell the voters if we want to continue in office. Also, our puppet masters (Soros) have new marching orders for us, even though they don’t know how to fix this, either.
He is middle of the road, smack dab between the Stalinist lane and Marxist lane.
Its funny, the press and Democrats were convinced that once Hillary won the Presidency the Republican party would implode, be in shambles, and searching for a way forward. In reality, we started that process in the primaries with a gaggle of candidates, no heavy handed favoritism or vote fixing to the big name establishment guys (see Jeb Bush), wound up with an outsider in Trump, and moved ahead and won. There’s stillwork to do for sure, but Trump seems to be stocking his admin with people from different arms of the Republican party, and I think there will be a lot of give and take between those factions in moving a Republican agenda forward. It won’t be as conservative as some would like in any number of areas (financially, foreign affairs, social issues etc) but it will be an infinite improvement on what we’d have received otherwise. We’ll be moving forward together as a party while the Democrats try to reassemble the pieces of theirs.
Dennis Kucinich while a leftist IMHO is an honest man. They could elect him, the theory is out their you don’t need to be a Rep to be the Majority Leader. However, They could do that to Obama too ( shutter )....
actually that’s Stalin Street. I been there ;-)
And where are they wrong? And where is it such a bad idea? If it were up to me the Republicans would be replacing their leadership as well. Neither McConnell or Ryan will be a partner with President Trump, only a foe.
