Maybe Donald Trump knows exactly what he’s doing with these Cabinet picks
The Washington Post ^ | 2 Dec, 2016 | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 12/03/2016 4:23:28 PM PST by MtnClimber

When Donald Trump was elected president three weeks ago, many Democrats -- and even some Republicans -- openly fretted about whom he would pick to be in his Cabinet. Would he appoint only loyalists who affirmed his views? People with zero experience? People no one had ever heard of?

With the announcement Thursday of Gen. James Mattis as his pick for secretary of defense, Trump continues to demonstrate that those early worries were way off base. In fact, Trump's Cabinet choices -- and some of his potential choices -- reflect a political savviness that many people haven't been willing to grant the president-elect.

Cillizza is nasty anti-conservative fake journalist.

Don’t even bother. If he gets anything correct he is either lucky or pointing out something obvious.

Trump is rich because he’s a good judge of the right person to put into the right positions.

It seems that he’s putting together a group of qualified problem solvers who know when to keep their mouths shut. It’s an eclectic mix of business tycoons, military leaders, and politicians.

If The ComPost agrees with us, there’s something wrong.

Trump know exactly what he’s doing.

If you burn the flag, you go to jail or lose your citizenship.

Only point is this is where Trumps heads at, can’t do anything legally.

Next, if you burn the flag there has to be consequences.

All Trump was doing was signaling if you burn the American flag, better look over your shoulder because whatever happens, whoever beats your ass, I’m okay with that.

The only pick I am leery of is Haley for UN ambassador.
She has no diplomatic experience and she is a Cheap Labor Express Republican.
On the plus side she is removed as Gov. of a state that elects lots of Cheap Labor Express Republicans.

The political reporters once again prive how completely clueless they are about a doer like DJT. He meant what he said and is working to correct as many mistakes as he can in the shortest possible time. Help is on the way.

100% agree. Cilizza pulls this crap all the time. He makes a statement weeks in advance then writes an article cliaiming Trump was right all along or not as bad as he thought. Then in his mea culpa article he drips comdescension at Trump, in this case comparing him to a President Marco Rubio or a President Lindsey Graham and saying if he appoints Democrats then that is fine. What a jerk.

I do wonder how much the goal will be to promote and improve our diplomacy around the world (not a bad goal) or else perhaps the goal will just be to stay in Washington and clean out the internal bureaucracy within the State Dept (perhaps the best goal).

yeah, the author didn’t even mention Bolton, he would be my pick, I really like the guy even though he gave some really bad advice early on to GW (or at least he took the bullet for bad advice, he’s either G Gordan/Ollie North loyal or he f*d up, and well...we’ve all f*d up in our careers at some point (and obviously he’s much the wiser now from what I’ve seen of him the past few years )), he’s an America first guy, and he knows his way around world diplomacy for sure.

Plus, Bolton scares the hell out of the libs (so much so they can’t even imagine him in that role), so that’s worth a chunk of points in my book.
