A USA Today review of “Dunkirk” is under increased scrutiny from industry peers for warning viewers that it lacks women and minorities.
Social media ridicule followed the publishing of writer Brian Truitt’s reaction to director Christopher Nolan’s latest film, a World War II tale about Allied soldiers attempting to survive while pinned down by German adversaries. The columnist gave the film a glowing review while saying its lack of diversity “may rub some the wrong way.”

I simply want to know if the film is good, or not.
Werner Klemperer (Col. Klink) had a Jewish father and a Lutheran mother. He was born in Cologne in 1920.
His family emigrated to the US in 1935. If his parents hadn’t taken the family from Germany it is likely they would have ended up in one of the camps, never to be seen again.
Contrary to his mangling of the violin on HH he was a classically trained violinist and concert pianist.
Klemperer only agreed to take the role if he was allowed to portray Klink as a bumbling fool and that Klink was never to win against Hogan.

Revisionist films and TV are a joke.
Saw a new BBC version of Oliver Twist that was PCd up with a black Nancy. It was very distracting.

Might have been some Indians. I haven’t checked the BEF records so off the top of my head I don’t know.

McQueen’s character was a fusion of three real pilots: David M. Jones, John Dortch Lewis and William Ash.
And 'Whitey's' Charger would be a Nisson Leaf.

A lot of scenes and elements in it are based on events that really happened. Hell, the small boat they used in the movie was THERE.
blacks dominate in sports....funny how race never seems to be an issue as long as blacks dominate in it, and whites have no problem with it at all...
but the beaches of Dunkirk were for all practical purposes, white young men....

Those Brits were lucky that Hitler was suffering from a delusion that he could talk Great Britain into joining up with him against the Soviet Union. German Generals were horrified that Hitler held them back and kept them from killing and capturing every single retreating Brit... which they could have done.

Exactly. I turned off the movie about the USS Indianapolis after about 30 minutes because they were showing blacks doing things they did not do in actual wartime.
But, that was a black director (and a merely mediocre actor) giving his black son a starring role. Yawn.
He looks like Don Cheadle!
Maybe he should be in the movie.
