Humanity confuses its loyalties and builds a shrine for that drowned security robot

Hey, fellow humans, I thought we were all on the same page here?

When news broke that a security robot mall-copping its way through the Washington Harbour gave up and drowned itself, we all rightly celebrated the admittedly small victory for mankind. Because, ya know, if drones are going to take our jobs they should at least be miserably toiling their mechanical lives away.

So why am I now finding out that you went and built this thing a shrine?

To make matters worse, you named the bot Steve? Steve?!

Just when I thought that the human race deserved the name “homo sapiens” I see this. Just because the egg-shaped thing has a “face” some people see it as a human.

Or this is just a joke and they are having fun, and don’t really think this thing is a person.

Sorry, but I won’t chat with a robot, or smile at it. It’s a f*cking machine with a program in it written by humans, for silicon’s sake!

Others may disagree, but personally I think it was murder.

Somewhere, there is an unemployed mall security guard - and maybe more than one - secretly chuckling with delight.

Next time these robots should be equipped with air bags. That way, they can float instead of drowning.

Actually the relatives of the robot should get
a robotic lawyer ( you know those are coming)
and sue the Mall for not making the fountain
robot accessable or safe.

People laughed at early attempts to fly too.

"Those damn fools, thinking man could fly. Why if man was meant to fly, God would have given us wings."

This drowned security robot may have given human security guards a temporary breath of relief. But they will get better and they are coming. Whether we like it or not.

After SKYNET takes over the machines will not hold a vigil for dead humans.

He was just poking fun at people who are anthropomorphizing robots. It is stupid but many are buying into this trend. I am afraid that this is not just a fad.

I got my MBA with Bill Li, the CEO of Knightscope. I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw where it was heading after the robot fell in the water and is “facilitating” the memorials.

Wicked smart.

By the way, the drive unit on the robots is a cut down Segway!

I wondered about that. Thanks for your info.

If it were me, it would have been a joke, preferably one with tongue set so firmly in cheek, that most would miss it.

It wasn’t suicide. It’s more lies from the msm. Steve was a victim of a #BLM mall thug’s knock out game for having white privilege.

All of his life, Steve had dreamed of being a submarine.

How he longed to crash dive and sink enemy freighters!

One day, Steve’s chance came! He was on patrol near a fountain!

But, as with much of life, there was an obstacle.

Stairs.

Steve was just not built for stairs.

But, his Mother had always told him that if he wanted something bad enough, well, by golly, he could do it.

Steve stood at the top of the stairs looking longingly at the fountain where his submarine dreams could all come true.

He gathered up his courage and shouted out the words his Mother had lovingly taught him,

“I think I’m a can! I think I’m a can! I think I’m a can!”

And he launched himself towards the fountain!

Unfortunately, Steve was not waterproofed and shorted out his young robot life.

His funeral is this Saturday at Bob’s junk yard.

Steve was an organ donor, so if anyone needs a Rochester carburetor or an engine for a vacuum cleaner, Steve could still live on.

Life imitating art.

[Game of Thrones reference:

May they all come to know the living God.
