This plausible track scenario highlights extreme inland wind gusts well in excess of 70-90 mph all the way to Atlanta.

“what would be the odds of being able to fly out of Atlanta around noon on Monday?”

Zero.

Next question?

Exactly. And we have plenty of fenders.

Just hope the dock doesn’t float away. THAT would be bad.

I remember that! I had to work that night. I worked at the local prison in Savannah and they had everything set up.

Got to see MOST of the game as the power went out at one point.

They let us go home about 3am.

STill too early to predict path of Irma. So many models predicting 150-250 mile wide path.

I paid $7600 out of pocket for a new 2017 Chevy Spark, gasoline powered. That includes all taxes, $3000 for trade in credit and GM credit card credits. I could not touch a Prius for less than 20 grand. With the money saved, I can go to Hawaii during hurricane in Florida.

Yep. They have no idea where it’s going to hit. Somebody is going to get hammered. The question is where. I don’t like the recent lean to the west on the tracks. That most likely puts it over FL.

Slim and none, and slim is somewhere on I-75 near Cincy, heading north.

Then again, if you fly Delta, you may be in luck. One of their crews didn’t let an approaching Cat 5 stop them from landing in San Juan yesterday—and taking off again.

Flights from other airlines turned back, but not Delta. Strap in and hang on.

UGA plays at South Bend this Saturday. Not worried till the following Saturday. If the weather passes through Florida on its way to Ga. Then I would think it would be those in The Daytona area who would be concerned. And Miami and all of Fla.

It’s concrete (if you got suckered in watching “Baywatch”, the marina scenes were filmed in our home marina).

When Matthew came through, the dock got up to within 18 inches of the top of the pilings. Other docks failed, but, we were good.

Good, down here docks with wooden pilings pull out of the ground when the water rises, then when it goes down, they look like a bunch of twisted ladders, because some of the planks get ripped away...................................

My mom lives in Savannah and says She’ll be leaving there on Saturday morning to head this way. I think she finally is getting past her stubborn nature. She rode out the last one in Savannah, said she slept through it. Don’t know but now it appears it will be a cat 1 near the GA coast. She may again stay. 77 and stubborn, not a good mix for mother nature.

We topped off the gas tanks and I picked up some extra canned goods today. I have pork rinds and apple fritters so I’m good to go. Bring it! :-)

Thanks for the ping, FreedomPoster!

I’ve been following the main Irma thread for days, and have watched with growing astonishment as the projected path evolved to take direct aim at Atlanta!

I’m in the Atlanta metro, just OTP, near Spaghetti Junction.

Where are you situated?
