Politico ^ | 11/15/17 | ALEX ISENSTADT

With less than four weeks until the special election and no sign that the party’s besieged nominee will exit the race, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his top advisers are discussing the legal feasibility of asking appointed Sen. Luther Strange to resign from his seat in order to trigger a new special electionMcConnell aides express caution, saying they're uncertain whether such a move, one of several options being discussed, is even possible. Yet the talks underscore the despair among top Republicans over relinquishing a seat in deep-red Alabama, further diminishing their slim Senate majority.

I hope so, and I hop she appoints Mo Brooks. People should pressure her to appoint Mo Brooks in case something like this happens.

Never gonna happen. She's got an election of her own coming up in '18, and should she do something this stupid, the good people of Alabama would throw her out on her rear end. Despite the donkey braying of all the out-of-staters, Roy Moore remains very popular, and it's grown since this effort to influence the election.

Mark Levin rattled off a poll last night indicating that Roy Moore is now scoring well below Doug Jones. But we’ll see, I guess.

Just like Trump's polls before last year's elections, eh? LOL

To: Alas Babylon!

I always imagined that when Virginia is finally taken over by communists I would escape to Texas. Maybe I’ll have to add Alabama as a refuge of liberty.

Just FYI, that poll that Levin mentioned is as fake as a Lindsey Graham manspread.

RealClearPolitics average has Moore ahead by 3.

I would start looking at the voting machines and who has been hired to count the votes. That will be the Republicans last ditch effort to ensure the seat goes to a Democrat.

The backlash from all the behavior of the GOPe will surface in November, 2018, and they will pay for their perfidy.

I’ll give you a drastic plan, if you want one.

Does it include the use of lamp posts for something other than what they were originally designed for?

McConnell would rather have the Democrat than Roy Moore.

Of course he would. After all, he is a democrat at heart.

Lampposts too flashy, ostentatious. Concrete: traditional, conservative, permanent, lightly mysterious. Right, Mene? ;)

a band of me to’s who remember something creepy

ore likely just women who were within less than a mile of Moore at some time and who could be persuaded by Democrat/McConnell money and lawyers' opportunism.

If Strange is pushed out by McConnell can Ivey then appoint Moore? Would Ivey then be on the receiving end of hordes of women looking for their moment of fame and lots of money?

Moore’s “baggage” is that backpack a strange bearded guy put with your lugggage at the airport.

Yes. indeed. That is certainly part of it. They do NOT want a fellow Senator who tries to observe and hold others to Founding Principles, religious or political. Moore appears insufficiently corruptible.

I suppose one option is to lose the seat to the Democrat in order to save it? Where’s the sense in that?
