Pop star Taylor Swift apparently struck a nerve with leftists and Internet trolls this week after she said she “couldn’t have asked for a better year” in 2017 and thanked her fans in a birthday Instagram post. “I love you guys so much,” Swift captioned a photo taken at a recent London concert. “I couldn’t have asked for a better year, all thanks to you. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Can’t wait to see what 28 will be like. See you on tour.”
That simple message was apparently too much for some Twitter users — and at least a few media outlets — who questioned how Swift could have a “great year” with all the tragedy occurring in the world, including the election of President Donald Trump.
“Is there anything more annoying than Taylor Swift talking about what a great year 2017 has been while everyone else is fighting for our lives under Trump?” wrote one Twitter user.
“I mean, yeah there were Nazi’s and and white supremacy marches, and families are being town apart, and there were mass shootings, and people are losing health care, but none of that affects me, so 2017 was great! [sic]” wrote another.
There was plenty of similar sentiment on Twitter.

Thanks, KC. I know a lot about Taylor Swift because I teach guitar to little girls who admire her so much.
Seeing her success makes them realize that, if they work hard at their craft, they might be able to attain that dream too.

And, speaking as a Singer/Songwriter, I have to say that her songs are pretty good! :-)
I prefer a funkier style with more than 4 chords, but her songs have structure, hooks, melodies, and are based on the experiences that many adolescents go through.
She also has spoken to young girls about self-esteem and empowerment, and gives them inspiration.
That is why the left hates her so! If young women grow up with a sense of self-esteem and purpose, they are less likely to fall prey to the cynical, nihilistic, and misanthropic lies of the left.
She asked for and got $1.00 in symbolic damages.

I was one of Taylor Swift's first fans, going all the way back to 2006. But since I am barely 16 months older it was really easy to relate to her music.
I have stuck with her ever since.

2017 was a great year for Taylor and for me. She made some good music and a bundle of money. I almost died 3 times and Hillary lost, Trump won, and the leftists lost what little of ther minds they still had.
I had a great year as well. The Hildebeast wasn’t elected President, I retired after 35 years in Aerospace, I am healthy, happy and financially secure. It doesn’t get any better than that.

ignore the people that are full of rage and frustration. They are jealous of you...they #$@#^#ed their lives and will lash out at others success. Theyve been taught that they are “owed” something in life and wait on others to “hand” it to them...theyve been around since the birth of this nation, and sadly, thanks to a political party, there seems to be more and more of them. You are young, beautiful and never have to worry about money ever again. These are the best years of your life....enjoy every second of it, cuz trust me, it goes by fast....
I had a terrific year. Neither Barack Obama nor Hillary Clinton was President. The stock market was up the economy is growing. Yep pretty great year!

Actually, Dear FRiend, I have been making my living doing music in some shape or form for since I was a teenager in the 60’s. I had my first band back in 1975...a Blues band before blues was back in style, and have been writing, producing, recording, developing therapeutic music therapy programs for the disabled, Weddings, Funerals, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Music Ministry, writing political parodies, Entertaining the Troops, and teaching for nearly half a century. LOL! :-)
I still teach and play in clubs, but not nearly as active as i used to be.
Good year for my daughter, too. Full time job with benefits and good pay.
I told her summer 2016, vote for Trump if you want things to get better.
