Erin Hamlin has led Team USA out for the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang after being named as flag carrier ahead of Shani Davis, who boycotted the ceremony. Hamlin, a four-time Olympian and winner of a luge bronze medal at the 2014 Sochi games, beamed a broad smile as she led out the athletes competing at the games in South Korea to the accompaniment of 'Gangnam Style'. The 31-year-old was chosen in a coin toss with, speedskater Shani Davis, one of just a few black athletes in TeamUSA, who says he should have been chosen to carry the Stars and Stripes.

What is obvious with Davis’ position now, given the split vote and the resulting coin toss, is that Davis thinks “racism” made for the split vote, not the honest non-racial positions of the voting U.S. Olympic Team members. Shame on Davis.
I guess he thought he was another Obama; deserving a certain position just because of his “race”.
I think he’s gonna refuse to compete, or loose on purpose.
If anyone hired him, his record for attendance is No Show-Shani !
If they only used the new Lady Liberty coin, Shani would have been assured of fairness and also assured of winning the coin toss. We all know that it's impossible for blacks and black coins to be bigots. /s
Repeat after me, diversity is our strength!
Why I will watch little to nil Olympics coverage.
Prima donna athletes and opportunists who could care less about the spirit of the games and only seek endorsements and fame for themselves..
“The tie was broken by a coin toss.”
The coin was RACIST!
These people are supposed to represent the team and by extension the rest of us. “Puerile tantrum flinging racist” is a poor representation and he should be replaced. If thats not possible with the present rules then I would rather lose an event by default than allow someone like this to participate.
What a fugly coin.
Send Shani Davis over to North Korea.
See what it is like in the real world.
He’s celebrating black history month by being the first black douchebag at the Olympics.
He’s far from the first.
