Believe it or not, a "Greatest American Hero" reboot is headed to the small screen and will apparently be set in Cleveland. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the lead role will be played by Hannah Simone, best known for her role as Cece on six seasons of "New Girl." She'll play Meera, described as a "30-year-old Cleveland woman whose talents include drinking tequila, singing karaoke and not much else," that is, until "some aliens entrust her with a super suit to protect the planet."

I think I may be mixing up two episodes.

It seems there was another suit given to a different guy who used it to enrich himself and the aliens took it away from him.

He searched for the suit and finally traced it to Ralph.......

Great song! Loved how George Constanza used it on his message machine: https://youtu.be/ria37d9mInY

The thing most remembered about the show might be that the lead character’s last name has to be “changed” after several episodes. His adult friends still called him Ralph but his students (he was a high school teacher) started referring to him as Mr. H.

The reason? Well, let’s just say the last name Hinckley became unpopular after that loser shot and nearly killed President Reagan.

I really liked that show. It was just good-natured fun.

I recently discovered a similar show, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. It has a similar premise with likable characters. That's the key. Justin Ritter, son of John Ritter, is the eponymous Kevin. His mannerisms are a lot like his dad's, and he does some pretty physical slapstick comedy that is quite good.

Unfortunately there will only be one season, since it has been cancelled.

"I really don’t understand why it would be “rebooted”

My favorite line was when Ralph or Robert Culp reassured Pam, “Hey, Lois Lane never knew who Clark Kent really was.”

Loved the original plot line, thought Culp was great, but thought it god old kind of quick.

I remember when they dubbed in Ralph’s last name after Hinckley shot Reagan.

Hollywood would probably like to give Reagan’s shooter a good part in the “reboot”.

I don’t plan to watch it anyway.

Another remake. What next, a “reboot” (aka. Remake) of My Mother the Car?

Another re-boot with the male lead replaced by a female for no apparent reason. to further emasculate western popular culture. I'm surprised she's not a "person of color".

White males (Not men. Never call them "men". That humanizes them. Call them "males", because they're subhuman animals.) are evil and must be besmirched, denigrated, and degraded at every turn.

That was also the first time I saw Michael Pare on TV, guessing it was his first gig. I saw STREETS OF FIRE on Blu Ray?, it was awesome.

I remember both the show and the MAD magazine satire of it, "The Greatest American Zero".

I remember Robert Culp (the FBI agent) always using the word: scenario. I think Ralph complained about it.

Yup,
I watched and loved the show. And the theme song.
The whole thing worked for me, but then I liked Batman too. (Original with Adam West).

Another remake. What next, a “reboot” (aka. Remake) of My Mother the Car?

The car would be played by RuPaul, and would be a Prius owned by Mindy Kaling

“Will you please tell me what “woke” means?”

It’s a term that’s been around in the black community for awhile. It really gained steam after the Trayvon Martin soap opera when the Black Lives Matter provocateurs latched onto the term. Allegedly it means to be aware of racial and social injustice going on around one. It has morphed, in that the snowflakes and social justice warriors require that white people be “woke” to their privilege and guilt by association in the oppression of everything not white.

Alleged leaders like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton have made their fortunes by preying on people’s grievances and making victims of every one of their followers. It pays handsomely. They never called it “woke” though.

Woke is the latest incarnation of the grievance industry. It means perpetual victimhood for blacks and cultural suicide for naive, but well meaning, non blacks.

They already made the character a “her”. Now what kind of “her” remains to be seen...

Yeah, I watched this show a few times as a kid. Must have been not so good as my dad always had the newspaper.

Yes, I know. I’m not saying Ralph was the FBI agent (Bill Maxwell played by Robert Culp). I’m saying Bill said “scenario” in what seemed like every episode and Ralph mentioned it to Bill.

I watched it for Connie. :-)
