Sturm Ruger shareholders voted on Wednesday to conduct a report on gun safety, an extremely unusual move for the gun industry.
The vote requires that the gun maker's board of directors issue a report "on the company's activities related to gun safety measures and the mitigation of harm associated with gun products," according to a Sturm Ruger document.

There is no such thing as “gun violence” anymore than fist violence or blunt object violence or knife violence.

This is quite surprising. Proposals of this sort are usually put up by activists who have purchased a small amount of stock, and then voted down by a large majority.

Has Bill Ruger been resurrected? Maybe they need to stop producing mags with more than 10 round capacities.
If Ruger really wants to improve the safety of their products they can do it be getting rid of the ridiculous magazine interconnect "feature" on their simi-auto handguns.

Damn, I just bought a new Ruger Single Ten last week.

You should be very, very careful with that Single Ten! Apparently they have a mind of their own and a mean streak a mile wide.

The new, "publicly traded" Ruger... too big to
fail survive?
Stay tuned.

I take my grand kids shooting and spend most of my time reloading. I don’t trust them with SA’s. This thing holds 10 rounds.

It's kinda nice, really, simply pulling a magazine and locking it up each day while switching pistolas. That way, the round pulled out of the chamber and reinserted in the mag doesn't get impacted and eventually go band too hard.
And what will a Mr. Tacticool do in a fight--pull a magazine, fire that last round in the chamber and let the slide slap forward before inserting another mag? ;-D

You’re most welcome, especially since you brought it to my attention. Adequate sales volume insures continued availability and service for all. :-)
Not to promote one brand over another, either. I would do the same for any of the better producers and their customers (us).

That seems to be a good plan to me. Good to get them shooting, but keep it safe with anything that could go wrong.

Er, go bang too hard, even. ;-)
I don’t mean to be annoyingly argumentative about that subject, by the way. Only offering another perspective and food for more thought. There are possible advantages and disadvantages either way.

Gun safety issues? My Ruger P90 has a ambidextrous safety so they are all good
to go.
