Cockroach Milk? Experts Call Insect Dairy The Next Superfood

Scientists say they have discovered the next superfood that’s a perfect non-dairy alternative. However, they may have a hard time getting people to try cockroach milk. Using a 2016 report on the benefits of insect dairy, scientists found that the Pacific Beetle cockroach of Hawaii possesses nutrient-filled milk crystals, which they use to feed their young. “A single crystal is estimated to contain more than three times the energy of an equivalent mass of dairy milk,” the report stated... Some companies are already trying to get ahead of the trend by selling the bug juice in everything from milk to ice cream. “Think of Entomilk as a sustainable, nature-friendly, nutritious, lactose free, delicious, guilt-free dairy alternative of the future,” South African company Gourmet Grubb writes.

So cockroaches breastfeed?

But speaking of this, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby cockroach. The ones I’ve seen are full grown (of course I live in Florida where the cockroaches that hang around on your outside porch or in your garage are big enough to attack a small dog, and they fly too.)

We often wonder about many species of all sorts of birds and animals when you don’t see the young until they’re almost an adult. I’ve seen plenty of eagles and eaglets as they grew, and osprey the same because their nests are in “plain view”...but what about an ibis, for instance. We always see a flock of ibis in our yard, and because of a darker color we’ll know there’s the occasional juvenile, but before that their nests must be hidden in the marsh and trees along the water’s edge and they don’t venture out.

And I only see adult coyotes. On the inverse, we see alligators at all ages from baby’s to the old BIG gators.

This was totally off the subject, sorry, blame the cockroaches.

I do not want to see self-respecting, hard-working cows thrown out of work by numerous, more nimble competitors. Only Bovimilk for me!

“How they milk an almond is beyond my comprehension.”

Tiny hands, no doubt.

I like almond ‘milk’, too, but it isn’t milk. I was referring to mammalian milk, which adults don’t need.

I had camel milk when I visited Mongolia. I also had camel meat.

It was not too bad. It had a mild flavor.

The Lear jet leftists expect to form the core of the global Inner Party. They will continue to enjoy the finest foods and most advanced gadgets the world has to offer — while deciding your fate for you.

If you work very hard and show them your unwavering loyalty, you may be permitted to join the global Outer Party. You will be allowed occasional servings of meat — and air conditioning on a rationed basis.

The rest of us will eat insects and swelter — for the good of the planet.
