You get it! Just looking at her, she looks honest, I believe her account. She has/had no axe to grind. The black guy (resident) simply did not have his key to the buildings front door AND then winged it from there.

Nothing matters except she is white and he is black so she is wrong.

“The black guy (resident) simply did not have his key to the buildings front door AND then winged it from there.”

What makes you think he did not have a key to the building?

Apparently this lady was so “concerned for her safety” that she got in the elevator with this stranger and followed him to his door. I call B.S. on her story.

Straight up troll. Either that or a bee with an itch. Could be both I guess.

Would you want a neighbor who regularly let their dog pee that close to the front door?

It is also possible that he pushed the button on his fob while walking up, and she just didn’t know, and he just didn’t feel like being civil to her and show her he had the fob.

Being that he unlocked the door to his own apartment, it appears that he must have had a key........OK. But he apparently did not have an electronic key for the Lobby.

“But he apparently did not have an electronic key for the Lobby.”

That is her opinion, and that may have nothing at all to do with reality.

"...troll..."

You are both absolutely 100% correct.
That poster consistently posts from a non-Conservative stance.

She was under no obligation to let him in and shouldn’t have.

“She was under no obligation to let him in and shouldn’t have.”

He lives in the building.

He has a right to enter the building.

You are correct on this but she is honest in my book. If the police were really going to get involved they could ask him to show them his front door key that evening. Doubtful they did this in the present racial climate.

And she has no obligation to allow a stranger to enter on his word that he lives there.

She was holding a locking primary acess door open for her dog when a person she didn't know forced his way past her and refused to show his key or fob to open that door.

He also said that someone buzzed him in.

Tailgating is a common ploy used by criminals to get into limited access buildings.

I'm sure there is a clause in her agreement that forbids a tenant from letting in anyone that is not a tenant or vouched for by a tenant.

my kid lives in a building where you put your key in and hit a button to open the main door. If some guy came dancing up behind me and tried to get in on my buzz, i probably would not let him do that. Idk anybody in that apartment building except my girl. So m aybe he lives there, maybe not. Not my deal to figure out.

“She was holding a locking primary acess door open for her dog when a person she didn’t know forced his way past her and refused to show his key or fob to open that door.”

There is no evidence that he forced his way into the building.

Instead, he entered the building where he has an apartment.

“And she has no obligation to allow a stranger to enter on his word that he lives there.”

I have not read where the HOA or management company placed her in the role of determining which residents can and cannot enter their apartments.

"Thornton claims her neighbor eventually forced his way inside."

If she had voluntarily let him in and he was not a resident and attacked someone or burglarized a unit she could have been held civilly and possibly criminally liable.

Why didn't he have his security fob?

If he didn't have it then he calls the apartment manager to be let in.

Why you refuse to see this as a basic security precaution is beyond me.
