The ongoing debate in America is about how "violent" football is, and how it is causing paralyzation, depression, suicide, etc.
Would you allow your son/grandson to play football?
Damn straight I would. Soccer’s for p*ssys
YES
I strongly suggested hockey—the size disparities aren’t usually as great as they are in football.
Rollerball.
“Paralyzation”? Really? I’m pretty sure there’s a word for that.
Rather football than get married today.
Grandparents don’t “allow” kids to do anything, that’s up to the parents.
.
I gave my Grandson a Wilson NFL football last Christmas.
better football than be a Democrat or read the MSM.... /s
:^)
Up through high school okay. Speed and size in college and above become very risky.
None of my sons played football. One was a golfer and the other always wanted to be an airline pilot. The golfer son is a very successful CPA and is still an avid golfer. He, his wife and two young children are very good golfers.
Younger son was hired to be an airline pilot soon after he turned 21. He is now a First Officer for the big Delta and could upgrade to Captain now if he wanted. He is waiting until he can hold a route in a base city he wants before he does that.
That said, I would not let a son of mine play football until they were a Sophomore in high school. If a boy has real talent, waiting until then would not put him at a disadvantage and make him less likely to have a long lasting brain injury. I wouldnt encourage it, but wouldnt refuse to allow him to play.
No.
My 13 y/o, 8th grade grandson plays. he’s 6’2”, 190 pound left tackle, defensive end. He’s game is basketball, tho and it’s just as dangerous.
My sons play football ( ages 7, 12, and 13)They love it. I played high school and college football. Yes, I had lots of injuries, but wouldnt change a thing. I also played rugby for 20 years and wrestled for 7. Some people just want to smash into other people. Hard to explain, but violent contact sports serve a purpose. These sports also toughened me up and helped me immensely during my 24 year military career.
No. But I have no problem watching your sons/grandsons bashing their heads in.
:)
Football in America as we know it today won’t exist in 20 years.
My grandson, my son, and I all played football through high school......
At the top levels of play, soccer players are the best conditioned athletes in team sports.
Soccer also has lots of concussions, especially in youth leagues.
NO, and I second the hockey suggestion. Cross Country, of course :)
