Is there still a state called Virginia?

Posted on 01/20/2020 2:57:32 PM PST by Jonty30

I'm just wondering. I work nights, so all news has to wait until I wake up. I'm just wondering if there are survivors from the rally today?

Not only was there a “no fly zone”, but were snipers and personnel on several rooftops.

A news helicopter was permitted to overfly the area and was livestreaming some astonishing close ups of the crowds. When they zoomed in with their steadicam, you could read slogans on jackets and hats. Faces were clearly recognizable. They also got comprehensive video of all the surrounding streets and parking areas.

There were 5X more people outside the cage than inside the cage. More than half of them may have been armed.

There were three known sniper positions covering the Capitol grounds. They were under constant observation and commentary from livestreaming videographers in nearby office buildings.

There was not one single arrest, nor any violent incidents.

This event turned out way better than I ever expected.

You are correct to the degree that we have fifty states but Virginia.gov is The Official Site of The Commonwealth of Virginia. Virginia has always made it a point to call itself a Commonwealth and the same goes for Kentucky when I lived there too.

It is just when people say Virginia is not a state, that is not true. It is as if some people don’t believe a Commonwealth can simultaneously be a state also. Every US commonwealth is a state except for Puerto Rico, which is a US territory.
