I know drinkers that leave unconsumed adult beverages to friends and family in their wills!

Lead in glass makes it sparkle, I have some old lead crystal... beautiful stuff but I wouldn’t want to store alcohol in it for a hundred years - or even ten.

When we were hunting a couple of years ago we uncovered hundreds of beer cans in Weeds...

The moonshiners used old car radiators for a condenser, and the tiny bit of lead that leached in from soldered joints gave the booze a sweet taste. I'd be surprised to learn that it isn't an old technique.

More specifically, glass with a high lead oxide (PbO) content -- probably deliberately so -- to lower the melting point and enhance moldability. One possible indication is the white film on the outside of the bottles: possibly lead oxide or hydroxide...
