Remember when you could let kids watch Sesame Street without seeing Elmo in drag?

I think that fine gentlemen sums it up well.
Would you be surprised if I told you 1) that this happened in 2020 and you didn't even know about it and 2) that horned bearded man is Jonathan Van Ness, an actor on the show "Queer Eye" and friends with the one and only Dylan Mulvaney, Bud Light spokesman extraordinaire?

It's all connected, and the people in the White House, Sesame Street, and your once-favorite beer company are all promoting it.
But it's not like they didn't warn you.
Keep tapping that sign.
If I wanted to see an children’s character in drag, I would watch Bugs Bunny.
One of the things I have noticed as an autistic is that men or women who button their dress shirts or polo shirts up to the collar without a tie are dangerous.
It’s God’s way of warning you that the person doing this is crazy and that they are a mortal threat.
In particular see the above pictures for what I mean.
Many people see that man as a snarky little queer and what I see is someone who can easily kill other people if he’s provoked.
I’ve noted that myself...........................
I always knew Bert and Ernie were lovers, they might as well corrupt the show further.

It’s a shame. Our Grandson likes Sesame St. I thought it was OK to watch with him. Have to look up the old episodes.
“Remember when you could let kids watch Sesame Street without . . .?”
It was a liberal brainwashed from the word go
I never let my children watch Sesame Street, and that was 25 years ago. We did print out Big Bird silhouettes for my daughters to learn how to shoot at the range.
Dave Chappelle knows what is wrong with Sesame Street....
That's been David Byrne's signature look since the 80's. A little quirky, but I'm not sure I (or anyone else) would describe him as dangerous. Ironically, he has described himself as autistic.
Homos and single moms happened.
But don’t forget, David Byrne/Talking Heads had their first big hit with “Psycho killer (qu’est ce que?)
Ah yes indeed...you are right about that :)
Either I'm autistic, or one need not be autistic to make that observation.
‘Way back in 1969, my mother sat down with me to watch what may very well have been the first episode of Sesame Street.
It was the first, last, and only episode I ever watched.

Yep. I was amused that the author was concerned about Elmo being in drag. Elmo took the already questionable muppetry to a whole new level, and that was even without charges against its voice actor:
Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo on “Sesame Street” for 28 years, has been cleared of sex abuse charges, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR) .
An appeals court threw out the three charges against Clash, 53, saying the claims were made outside New York’s statute of limitations.
Funny, I don’t see how saying a statute of limitations has expired is the same as clearing someone.
The childrens workshop or whatever it is called has always been pushing for just a little more inclusivity. I would bevery surprised if they didn’t go all out.
There was never a time when I would have allowed my kid to watch Sesame Street, never.
