‘There’s No Game Plan’: Bud Light Sales Collapse amid Backlash to Dylan Mulvaney Campaign
Yahoo! News ^ | 5/2/23 | Ari Blaff

“I think it runs the risk of losing that No. 1 position at the end of calendar year 2023 to Modelo Especial,” Bump Williams, the market research company chief, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Monday.

In early April, Bud Light sent Mulvaney decorative cans of beer featuring the influencer’s face as part of a promotion paired with March Madness. Alissa Heinerscheid, Bud Light’s recent marketing manager, was the brain behind the scheme and sought to rejuvenate the brand by “shifting the tone.”

‘Get woke, go broke. Bye Bud’

if the beer was any good, there would be no collapse; it’s easy to boycott a shit product like Bud light...

Even if they did everything you suggested, AB has passed a point of no return. A critical mass of their former customers won’t believe them.

They won’t do it because it would require they walk the talk and get rid of their entire D.I.E. policies, programs, and organizations, and nearly all top management would need to resign. AB is probably not a great place to work at these days.

It appears that the Bud Light drinkers are moving to Coors Light and Miller Lite, based on parallel increases to their sales as Bud Light sales decline. The Miller-Coors firm is as left wing as Anheuser Busch. However, the point has been made: do not anger your customer base. There is a parallel to the New Coke debacle of the 1980s. Contempt for your market and their preferences is a formula for disaster.

Local store sale ad for BL prices it $0.70 per 12 oz bottle. Prior to the business mistake of the decade, it was in the $1 - $1.25 range retail.

Does it not surprise you that the left is not out there buying cases of this stuff to defeat their political arch enemies who are promoting the boycott?

Therefore, to get that set of consumers into the stores they could rebrand as “BLM Beer”. (Bud Light Matters).

Read my entire post, they can’t just issue the apology and be done.

They MUST then actually take the heat from the left and stand firm, and back it up with action. They go from being the heel, to the babyface very quickly. The same folks who left them because of this will return (most of them anyway) when they see they actually are standing up, and standing firm at every oportunity.

It can’t just be we’re sorry and be done with it. They have to make it a core principle of everything they do with respect to this nonsense.

IF they just say sorry and don’t do anything, yes no one will believe or care.

However if they did a true contrition campaign, and backed it up with solid action... and stood up, without question against the chosen ludicrous narrative, they will instantly mobilize the left wing nutters, and them standing firm against them, sustained, and without hesitation the same folks who poured them down the drain will return. They absolutely have the ability to completely flip the script and pivot, but to do so they have to show bravery and courage, rather than pandering and cowardice.

I highly doubt they would do it, because doing so would, as I stated actually require REAL COURAGE and Commitment. They would have to fight off the loud activist shareholders who would try to stop them, they will have endure being brutalized by the press, they will have to be willing to have some media refuse to play their ads. In other words they have show they are willing to offend in defense of the truth, rather than cowtow to lies because they are en vogue among a certain loud but minority set.

IN order to get out of this they have to flip the scrip and go from the brand that got into bed with this insanity, to the brand who unadulteratedly said NO to it.

If they just do some half arsed words and don’t follow up, you better believe it won’t help them... they have to commit to standing strong against this nonsense.

As I said before, I doubt they have the will to do it, but if they want to fix it, that is what they have to do.

See post 34.

They need to immediately flip the script, but they are too cowardly to do it.

They could get out of this mess relatively quickly IF they had the will to... They don’t and that’s why they are going to continually decline.

Its beyond clear the heads of the company weren’t involved in the decision to use a man who pantomimes being a woman, primarily to children and teenagers, as a spokesperson for their firm... Unfortunately they were the ones dumb enough to hire a left wing woman to be someone with enough power to authorize such nonsense.

They have fired her, and her boss at this point... though it took them way too long to do it, but that’s another story.

The ONLY chance they have is to let themselves be the target of the woke zombies, and not only do it, but do it with pride and conviction. If they do that, they will rapidly flip the script.. but they are cowards and unwilling to stand up to the popular narrative that all this crazy is just how it is meant to be.

If they become the company that takes a stand against this insanity, and does so proudly, and without fail, they can turn this around, but I doubt they have the will to do it.

I normally consume Yuengling Lager. But this dust up has me wanting to try a light beer so I picked up a case of Yuengling Lager Light on the way home yesterday. This was at a small outlet in PA.

There was no Bud Light on the sales floor, one case in the cooler. Of course that doesn’t mean they are sold out or not stocking it but seemed weird that there was very little to look at.

“Bud Light Maker Offers Distributors Free Beer, More Ad Spending After Dylan Mulvaney Backlash”

“Anheuser-Busch the country’s largest brewer, has pledged to boost its marketing spending on Bud Light, accelerate production of a new slate of ads, and give a case of Bud Light to every employee of an Anheuser-Busch wholesaler, distributors said.”

AB is reduced to giving away Bud Light to their distributors’ employees!

Brand is owned by AB InBev. Made under licence. Profits for AB InBev under the license agreement. Sorry for Constellations luck. I want to see no profit go to AB InBev.

Heck, more likely by the end of the 2nd quarter. Ain’t nobody buying it.
