Sen. Tillis says Zelensky and his allies aren't buying yachts, etc. with aid money

@ChadPergram

1) Tillis: It was helpful that President Zelensky focused on some of the myths around yachts being bought with the money coming from the United States.

They have implemented reforms based on IMF recommendations. They have implemented reforms based on EU recommendations.

2) Tillis: We know what's happening on the ground..I believe that by and large, the money is being well spent. And if we fail to support Ukraine, we will spend a lot more and regret this moment in history when we walk away from it.

I could actually see how this war keeps dragging on and on if a substantial part of the aid is skimmed off. But if it isn’t, then the UKR is really in serious trouble.

Tillis is an embarrassment to the state of North Carolina. Like many career politicians he represents a state other than his birth state which was Florida. He represents the RNC establishment and donor base and takes great pride in being “bipartisan”.

He is not supporting the solid conservative Republican Lt. Governor Mark Robinson’s campaign for governor. Tillis is supporting Bill Graham, a wealthy businessman for the GOP governor nomination. Robinson is North Carolina’s first African American Lt. Governor. When he endorsed Graham, instead of Robinson, Tillis said, ““He [Robinson] has virtually no legislative experience, very little business experience. We’re a very, very important state and we have to have people with that kind of experience, I think, to continue this track record that we’ve had since Republicans took control of North Carolina when I became speaker. And so for those reasons, I’ve decided to support Bill [Graham].”

Tillis is as big a liar as any Democrat. He’s everything that’s wrong with the Republican party.

Q: How can you tell if a Senator is lying?
A: Are they breathing?

So, if they aren’t buying homes, yachts and other luxury items, what the hell ARE they doing with all that money?

Not buying a word of that. Zelensky and his generals are a bunch of grifting thieves, giving the Ukrainian people (and the taxpayers of the USA) the shaft.

The vast majority of the money ended up being put into the operation of the Ukrainian government and services. Meaning it flat out stolen by corrupt officials.

Hold on….you readily admit that the money was stolen through corruption but it’s a bridge too far for you to believe our own corrupt politicians didn’t get a piece of the pie? The only reason they won’t audit is because they’ll get caught up in that audit.

Ukrainian citizens don't even believe what that shill is spewing. They are more concerned about internal corruption than being nuked by Russia.
Force Ukraine to sue for peace and command that bisexual grifter to hold elections next year. Either that or start bombing Moscow if you want to “free” Ukraine. Anybody supporting the perpetual Ukrainian money pit are idiots especially in the face of the US being invaded by South/Central America/China/and whoever permeating the southern border.

I believe that by and large, the money is being well spent.

Oh so NOW they are building in wiggle room with not just one but two weasels, "believe" and "By and large".

Just a few months ago they were claiming that they knew where every dollar was going and NONE of it was going astray.

Maybe they read my post where I pointed out that this would be the first for any government project on record as we have records of peculation and malfeasance on tombs being built in Ancient Egypt.

the yachts that Zelensky got were much less prestigious than the photos making the rounds on the internet - they believe it was money well spent.

It’s not being spent of yachts... YET! It’s just stuck away in offshore bank accounts.

Good point. Most of the money is slated to equipment...made here. But an audit is needed. Too much corruption in the swamp.
