A CNN contributor sparked outrage on Thursday after saying that OJ Simpson “represented something for the black community … particularly because there were two white people who had been killed.”
Ashley Allison made the comment during the network’s coverage of the death of the 76-year-old Simpson, the disgraced NFL legend who was acquitted in 1995 of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.
Allison was weighing in on the racial tensions that pervaded the country during the Simpson trial and its aftermath.
She said the Simpson case brought to the fore “just how black Americans feel about policing.”
He wasn’t a social justice leader, but he represented something for the black community in that moment, in that trial, particularly because there were two white people who had been killed,” Allison said.
“And the history around how black people have been persecuted during slavery.”
Allison’s commentary sparked a backlash, with one X user remarking: “Absolutely unhinged racism.”
“They’re continuing to say the quiet part out loud,” another X commenter wrote.

Everyone knows this is true.
OJ jury was the moment I suspected there was zero hope for good race relations in the USA.
The near murder of that trucker by black mob was, as well.
Obama’s hatred of whites was confirmation.
BLM and all that was just icing.
What Ashley really meant to say was, “Kill all the whiteys. Yay!”
Disgusting.
Black people were sensitive to the possibility that the police fabricated evidence and cut corners on the OJ case.
It seemed that everybody else was either unaware of the possibility or OK with it.
I wound up in the middle camp of “Yeah, he did it, and it’s a good thing he was acquitted”.
There were things about that case that stunk from the beginning. It is wrong to railroad people, even if they are guilty.
OJ was just executing “Helter Skelter” in Charlie’s memory.
Older black women have a jealousy problem with white women. Oprah once said almost any white woman could take any black man from a black woman. This is NOT the fauld of white women - it’s the fault of tough angry black women...

Notice that there were 10 black women and two black men on the jury. There was one white man on the jury, but they got him thrown off for keeping a diary of the trial on his computer.
if a white person said this, they would be looking for a job.

If OJ Simpson truly “represents something” for black people, blacks are in even greater trouble than I thought.
