King Charles’ funeral plans reportedly being updated regularly after cancer diagnosis: ‘He is really very unwell’

King Charles’ health conditions are progressively deteriorating, leading Buckingham Palace officials to keep a regularly updated plan for his impending funeral — preparations for which started the day after Queen Elizabeth was buried, insiders said.

The 75-year-old monarch has remained largely out of the limelight since announcing his cancer prognosis in February to hide his declining condition, with multiple sources telling the Daily Beast the situation is “not good.”

“Of course he is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it. Everyone is staying optimistic, but he is really very unwell. More than they are letting on,” a source described as an old friend of the royal family told the outlet.

King Charles has never revealed what cancer he has been diagnosed with but admitted that it wasn’t prostate cancer, which is one of the most treatable forms of the disease.

The Firm has also been tight-lipped on his medical journey, but well-placed insiders and political commentators have publicly spoken about how the king is “responding really well” to treatment.

Behind the scenes, however, King Charles’ aides are regularly reviewing copies of a several-hundred-page document outlining his royal funeral plans, dubbed “Operation Menai Bridge.”

“The plans have been dusted off and are actively being kept up to date. It’s no more than what you would expect given the king has been diagnosed with cancer. But the circulation of them has certainly focused minds,” a former staffer with links to the serving courtiers told the Daily Beast.

King Charles will resume public engagements next week after making encouraging progress in his cancer treatment, Buckingham Palace has said.

It won’t yet be a full return to official engagements for the King, but the palace is sending positive signals.

The King will begin next Tuesday with a symbolic trip to a cancer treatment centre.

His summer plans include a state visit, where he will host the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

In the coming weeks, the palace said, he would undertake more external engagements.

The King is said to be “greatly encouraged” to be going back to more public events....

When he was crowned, I said he would be remembered as Charles the Brief. I was right.

What do they need to “update”?

He’s not adding anything to his story.

And he’s either going to live or die.

British banknotes with his portrait come out June 5. I don’t know if that changes if he doesn’t last that long.

Stories attributed merely to ‘sources’, especially in tabloids, are always suspect.

I suppose there are always highly detailed plans as to what will be done when the Monarch dies; and they are constantly updated even when he isn’t undergoing medical treatment.

The Royal Family has history of living well into their 90s or early 100s, they were also totally into the Covid vaccines, now two members of the Royal family are suffering from cancer, the King and Princess Kate who would be the Queen consort if she lives that long

Could be a total coincidence but certainly worth remembering

George VI (Queen Elizabeth’s Father) only lived to 56, due to his heavy smoking.

And then there was that bloody (literally) white horse rampaging through London the other day. The white horse carries the standard whenever the king is in residence (so I’ve been told), and therefore represents the monarch. As a commenter said the other day, “That was a scene straight out of Game of Thrones.” A bad omen, to be sure.

He’s not even going to get the nine years of King Edward VII, the other long serving Prince of Wales.

True but Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mum lived well into their 90s, smoking can and does kill anyone regardless of their genetics

I had to laugh with Prince Harry Honoring one of OUR Military people from his Montecito 'back porch' wearing his British badges of honor as if he's now role playing America's Prince!....trying hard to upstage his brother.... He's such a dunder head dick and more.

Harry has donned his British medals for a video from the back door of his Montecito mansion to present a Soldier of the Year award to US combat medic..
