Its hard to say what changed his ways....I think it was a combination of things, but maybe you are right, maybe my little piano recital had a little bit to do with it...I would like to think so anyay....

But he did the work himself, no doubt....he stopped drinking, I think, for a variety of reasons....I think the main one being that he scared us all so much...some people turn into very mean drunks, and that was surely my dad....he was a big man, with a big booming voice, and he scared people even when he was sober....

So when he was drunk, and mean, we were always terrified...I think that finally sunk in, and he just stopped drinking, except once in a while, a few beers...

Ah, thank you Westy....with this weather lately, we can see Mt. Rainier, practically from our house....such a pleasure to see our beautiful mountains, on these sunny fall days...

Good morning! Nice pics, Gran. I hear seagulls when I look at them. ;-)

All chances of rain this weekend have been cancelled. Apparently it's never going to rain here ever again. :-(

Good morning everyone....another glorious day awaits us all in the Pacific Northwest...sunny, warm, blue skies, mountains on view, its just perfect...

Grannie, I love those pics of the boats and the little fishing shacks....you can almost hear the gulls, smell the salty air, taste the fresh catch of the day...

I love little fishing villages....one of my favorites, is Bodega Bay in California, you know, where they filmed Alfred Hitchcocks 'The Birds'....We were there 3 yrs ago, just slowly investigating the area, eating in a local restaurant, a hot steaming bowl full of fresh clams and mussels being the lunch special....

We could have spent all day there, just enjoying the whole aura of the place...hopefully we will get back there again for this coming fall vacation...from Bodega Bay, its just a short ride up into the Redwood groves....Bodega Bay, the crashing Pacific ocean, and the redwoods, all in one day...a perfedt vacation day, indeed...

Oh that sounds wonderful.. I remember the Birds.. Scared the heck out of me at the time.. Never liked Skippy Hendron tho.. lol

We are being international today.. Taco's for lunch and I think Lobster, fresh corn etc. for supper.. I have so many tomatoes coming in. I have to find something to do with them.. We'll have a bunch sliced for dinner again tonight. They are sooooo good..

I really do want steamed clams tho.. Haven't had my fill this summer.. In fact I only had them once, and that's a crying shame.. ;)
