Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

It ‘s a crap sammich but it is game over if Soetoro gets more SC picks.

Your child-like faith that RINO Romney would pick Conservatives for the SCOTUS is almost endearing.

You do know he’s pro-abortion, supports homosexual fascism and all but wrote Obama care, right?

Seems to me that the GOP is saying to the south and the base Shut up you have no where to go, we don’t give a damn about your social policies or views and after all where you going to go anyway.

I'm amazed at the ease with which the south folded before the GOPe. When Rollins was asked about Mitt's problems in the south HE LAUGHED and said they would vote for Mitt because they don't have any other choice.

Even here in Michigan we forced Mitt into a tie after he beat McCain here by 10 points in 08.

I’m voting Romney/Ryan. Nothing else will save this country unless we go to war. And even should the GOP ticket succeed, we still have to hold their feet to the fire. But I can accept that.

We may still have to go to war if Obama wins. But I’ll be damned if I’ll sit this election out. No way will I ever not stand up and be counted when it comes to acting against tyranny. There’s no other choice.

My standard for a “true conservative” is exceedingly high. So high in fact that no candidate but the one I support can be nothing but a RINO. Now think back to the primary wars with the RINO charges being thrown around and understand the underlying sarcasm of my post.

... and that was their NUMBER ONE LISTED REASON for signing up as one of the shrill online scolds of Bishop Mittens' Online Sister-Wife Squadron, mind you! ;)

I was as ABR as anyone here. Ask my friends and family. Over the last month or so, I have come to the realization that, if I want my country to continue to exist, I have to become ABO. I do not support Romney, but I do support my country. I know that Obama is determined to destroy it.
Being in Wisconsin, I understand that my vote, unlike one in CA or NY, may actually matter. It is a heavy responsibility and one I take seriously.
I will be voting for some serious R & R.
If that means I am not welcome here at FR, I guess that is the way it is.

God Bless the USA. May she grow and prosper.

NO ONE IS AGAINST Mr. ROMNEYCARE, author of DEATH PANELS.

IT is his beloved DEATH PANELS.

Consider this:

My Vote: Romney/Ryan 1, Obama 0

Your Vote: Either

Obama 1, Romney/Ryan 0 or

Numbnuts 1, Obama 0, Romney/Ryan 0

So, who’s helping Obama? Do the math.

“WARY” of false prophets (although too much of them may indeed make a soul weary). Mitt has pretty much soft pedaled any overt Mormon message in his politics thus far. He’s said generic things about God and the country that could have been agreed with by the deist Ben Franklin and such orthodox devout personages as Billy Graham as well as mainstream Mormons. It’s hard for Mitt to do that in such a way that someone won’t complain. If Mitt keeps to secular messages some would complain that God was getting short shrift. If Mitt talks generically about God then others would fear a hidden Mormon message.

What puzzles me is why Mitt does not hew to a “clean living” line of religious philosophy. Ohenever the LDS goes on a charm offensive it emphasizes that, and Mitt would be an embarrassment to that. Sure, you can have fifty wives so you don’t get oversexed and sin, but other than that... well, you’d think Salt Lake City would be aghast over “gay marriage.”

Agreeing to serve with Mitt is also a sign to me that Paul Ryan puts the survival of this great nation above all else

BINGO!

When I was growing up (admittedly eons ago) men and women RESPECTED each other's religious beliefs and cultural differences. I used to believe that was diversity- but the left has abused the term so much now I have come to detest it.

Regardless- religious freedom and freedom FROM PERSECUTION was a founding principle. I still treasure it.

Of course, you are right. Anyone who would take notice of historical lessons is a fool, charge on and let the purges continue.

At what point in time does your 'history' lesson begin? Mine begins in Genesis 1:1.... and Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 1 ....."Vanity of vanities.... all is vanity." there is nothing new under the sun .... what has been will be again and so it is... - this nation by the leaders 'we' elect are .ell bent on repeating Sodom and Gomorrah.... 'happy days'

Well, you are bringing up the past in regards to abortion when we are supposed to look at people in the moment and and allow for them to change. That is the right thing to do. No man really redeems another man...but Romney had the wisdom to pick a bright and conservative man who knows how to stop the bleeding and save our nation from economic collapse. At least Romney has some very good free market principles that are lacking in our present socialist president.

“You’re not serious are you?”

Yes, it seemed to me he had gone silent on the issue recently. So, I was starting to think he wasn’t as adamant in opposition to Romney anymore and that maybe I should go silent as well - this isn’t “my” website - I am just a guest in someone else’s home. I am pleased to find my perception was totally wrong. Jim was crystal clear without any way he could be misconstrued.

they the elitist GOP have an attitude towards social issues and the base who supports this.

Lets face it , the south here have no where to go unless someone sets another party , maybe Sarah,Col Allen West, De mint, MIchelle B, Newt, Rick S, etc.

I’ve asked this before.
Ryan , I like him , seems very principled and his votes state that.
I coudldn’t careless about the mormon thing, much better than a raving muslim nutjob and Ryan shored up the base.

But again I’ve asked does he give us FL?
VA?
CO,
NM
we need them to win.
hispanics the growing segment of the population?
Students? it shoud as it is their future.
woman, single women?

Time will tell but again does Ryan really influence Romney and his liberal ways? Hell no
