The idea of impeaching Obama is industrial-strength insane. Republicans will probably try anyway, predicts Michael Tomasky.
When the histories of this administration are written, I hope fervently that last Friday, May 10, does not figure prominently in them. But I fear that it might: the double-barrel revelations that the White House hasn’t quite been telling the whole story on Benghazi and that some mid-level IRS people targeted some Tea Party groups for scrutiny are guaranteed to ramp up the crazy. But to what extent? I fear it could be considerable, and the people in the White House damn well better fear the same, or we’re going to be contemplating an extremely ugly situation come 2015, especially if the Republicans have held the House and captured the Senate in the by-elections.
Let me clarify a point that’s been going around. On MSNBC Friday, I broached the I-word. You know the one. Three syllables. Links Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton. I said something like: I have little doubt the Republicans would try to pursue it—something I’ve written dozens of times without readers really batting an eye. But I guess saying it on TV, and on a fateful day, is different. I was on the business end of a small number of angry tweets from liberal readers....

liberal hypocrites. economy. worst ever under bush. now, with gas double, 47 million record foodstamp users, obama forcing everyone to buy insurance under threat of fines and jail, covering up a far larger deal than nixon or clinton, where four people including a us ambassador and jailing a filmmaker who had nothing to do withit, and is still in jail now, and making every attempt to ut the 2nd amendment,
and it’s just republicans “politicizing” things.
All they understand and care about is political power.
When reality finally catches up to them they will be the most surprised people to have ever walked the earth.
You make an excellent point. Certainly need to keep the heat on for another year and a half and see if there are enough patriots left in the country to keep the House and take back the Senate. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are doing a great job. They need to be out front to be the voice of the senate and if so, it can be done.
Not enough attention is getting on the MANPADS smuggling —THAT was what the (looted) warehouse was for, at The Farm. For how many years will airport shoe removal now be irrelevant?
With THOUSANDS of MANPADS now floating around the AQ blackmarket, what sane jihadi will blow himself up aboard an airliner? They won’t have to —they’ll just point and click.

Will we continue taking our shoes off until we get dazzlers and flare dispensers on civil aircraft?
And why won’t the media talk about how Obama refused to go 2 Dover 2c the bodies —he was STILL in campaign mode even AFTER the killings, so they were flown to Andrews in order to save time time for campaigning.
Why aren’t they discussing those 2 things?
Unfortunately, we do have a senate full of insane people. It's to our advantage to mention "impeachment" early and often, but only i the context of "we're not looking for impeachment, just for a full explanation". We want the Obama administration crippled so they cannot do any more damage. We want them tied up so they are so busy saving their own necks that they will allow ObamaCare to be defunded. We want them discredited and in hiding so they will not be out there campaigning for Hillary. We don't want to try for the impossible. As wonderful as it would be to remove that evil communist from office, and replace him with the dunce from Delaware, it's not going to happen.

You really expect him to interrupt his “lifestyles of the Rich and Imposters” routine to show up for congressional testimony?.....that’s the stuff legitimate presidents do.
Here’s a point for consideration. Maybe somebody could correct me if I’m wrong but in the past 40-50 years I’m thinking each and every presidential administration has had to shove cabinet level people and high level administration people overboard due to one scandal or another. I’m thinking the number in the usurper’s administration is exactly 0. Isn’t this more or less unprecedented in modern history? Sure there was the usual shakeup after the first term at state, defense etc. but this is not the same as individuals being forced out and forced under the bus. I’d like to see at least some heads start to roll like if memory serves has happened each and every other time.
