The idea of impeaching Obama is industrial-strength insane. Republicans will probably try anyway, predicts Michael Tomasky.
When the histories of this administration are written, I hope fervently that last Friday, May 10, does not figure prominently in them. But I fear that it might: the double-barrel revelations that the White House hasn’t quite been telling the whole story on Benghazi and that some mid-level IRS people targeted some Tea Party groups for scrutiny are guaranteed to ramp up the crazy. But to what extent? I fear it could be considerable, and the people in the White House damn well better fear the same, or we’re going to be contemplating an extremely ugly situation come 2015, especially if the Republicans have held the House and captured the Senate in the by-elections.
Let me clarify a point that’s been going around. On MSNBC Friday, I broached the I-word. You know the one. Three syllables. Links Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton. I said something like: I have little doubt the Republicans would try to pursue it—something I’ve written dozens of times without readers really batting an eye. But I guess saying it on TV, and on a fateful day, is different. I was on the business end of a small number of angry tweets from liberal readers....

Will the Democrats ask Obama to resign? In a minute if he is hurting the party too much. Nobody has to impeach Obama. All you have to do is tie all of his problems to the party. He’ll come down with Mogo On The Gagogo and have to spend time with Michelle and the kids. He’s accomplished all the big stuff. My guess is he won’t live in the US after he’s done being President.
to impeach Obama would take republican help and everyone knows they don’t have the stones!
Noteworthy, potentially troubling for the reasons you mentioned, but not all that frightening to obama personally.
He should be, and likely is, far more worried about what his side will do to him if he becomes too big of a liability and/or threat. He was brought to life and lives by that sword.

Probably probably that’s a lot of probablys. Gotta take him out if the chance comes - impeachment is now on the radar. Zero in and GOP and patriotic dems, get the job done before he goes insane and starts a major global conflict in an attempt to reset things for him or his muzzie butt buddies.
My opinion....
The DEMs will shout ‘impeachment’ as loud and as often as then can to put the REPs on the defense. Making the REPs look like they are over reacting is how the DEMs will attempt to minimize this.
Yep, it will be fun watching the wounded, bleeding, feckless Islamo-Commie narcissist try to remain "one of the most interesting people in the world" after this.

Do we not learn from 1998? Trying to impeach him will give him power, he’ll be attacked and belabored and the dems will gain seats. The American people don’t like it when one party tries to rewrite the election, even if they should.
Michael Tomasky is further left than almost anyone in media. I can’t say for certain that he’s an actual communist, but a mouse couldn’t live on the difference between him and Leon Trotsky. The Republicans aren’t going to try and impeach Mr. Obama. They remember President Clinton. He’s trying to run a con job, a “psych” if you will.

If he couldn’t golf (”finding balls” in the woods), and couldn’t entertain at the White House, he’d probably CONFESS to everything he’s done while in office just to get thrown out!!!!
I agree up to a point, but then I disagree.
Sure it may be a leftist, and they may be trying to set up some of this, but frankly we are surrounded by such overwhelming pod-people brainwashing by both parties that something along this line, will only wake up some people.
The Republicans aren’t out against Obama. And the Democrats aren’t out against Obama.
Someone should be. If for nothing else, just on GP.

ObAma is not afraid of impeachment. The people of Illinois were in the process of impeaching him from his senate seat when he ran for President
This article sounds like a challenge, a dare, to the Republicans. There exist grounds for impeachment now, stronger than all three previous presidential impeachments (well, I’m including Mr. Nixon as close enough).
Introduce the Articles of Impeachment in the House of Representatives in a week or two, and push for a trial. Gear up for executive privilege hearings before the U.S. Supreme Court, in response to expected scores of disrespected subpoenas. Hire an Archibald Cox to set the record straight. And stick with fact and principle only, in order to make the case.
What's not to like about setting records.
