Debate night:
While I type away here, my former mates are onstage. But that's a dead thing to me. It has to be. I have to let this go. They've moved on, and so must I. I just wish it didn't hurt so.
Anywhoo. My President is in the impossible position of trying to defend every decision, while his effete, arrogant opponent luxuriates within the warm nurturing embrace of the loving mainstream Media. I thought at best that this first debate was a Push. I wish this would have been the LAST debate topic instead of the first.
The economy will be a liability because of the MSM's relentless demagoguery.
I despair because I fear that the American public will ACTUALLY elect this POS. If that happens, my faith in the American bodypolitik will be irrevoquably destroyed, because it will be undeniably evident that the American public are a gaggle of total idiots. It all boils down to who you believe. Do you believe the candidate that references Halliburton's dark profiteering in a war for oil, or do you believe the candidate engaged in a war for the VERY SURVIVAL OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION? Do you believe a man who betrayed his comrades for political expediency, or The Man who had to lead his nation thru the worst crisis since Pearl Harbor??
I despair, my friends. I despair beause I fear that a third of the populace has hopelessly taken leave of it's senses; so much so, that it is willing to elect a Euro-trash, multicultural weenie so full of his own self importance that he will base foreign policy upon the brobdignagian failure that is the United Nations.
But most of all, I despair that another third of the populace has been so brow-beaten by the MSM that they are beginning to believe the same conventional wisdom that led to the defeat in the Viet-Nam War. The MSM is a powerful force on the political landscape. Public Opinion didn't end the Viet-Nam conflict; The MSM did. And they are trying to do it again.
I'm not in Iraq. I sometimes wish I was, so I could know what others know for myself. I wish I was built of sturdier stuff to enlist and go there. I feel like a coward sometimes to have an opinion about this. But then I stopped smoking pot.
Brave men volunteered for this duty. Some of them may even have volunteered because of some high ideal. I share that ideal. But after 9/11....man....I gotta be honest here;
Islam is a Plague upon this Planet.
And it must be Cured.
