BAD news from one of the local Sinclair advertisers

I got this response this morning...

Dear ****,
Would like to know who directed you to send e-mail to this address. Our buildings have been shot at the last two nights and police are investgating. I am forwarding this to them so you can expect a follow up from them.

This was my letter, by the way,

Good Afternoon,

As a life-long Madison resident, I am very concerned to find that your business advertises on Fox47, which is a Sinclair Company. As you may know, Sinclair has recently demanded that its stations preempt regularly scheduled programming in order to air a slanderous hit-piece on John Kerry. This is an illegal attempt to influence an election. They are telling their stations to refer to it as 'news' programming, in order to skirt election law.

I can understand why Sinclair is so desperate to keep the current administration in power. The current FCC is extremely friendly to large media companies, and their rulings favor the companies that intend to buy up as many stations as possible in order to dominate markets. Sinclair also has been awarded defense contracts by the current administration. Whether this was a 'payoff' for the intended smear campaign or not, we may never know. Sinclair also, as it happens, is the same company that FORBID its affiliates to air the 'Nightline' show that honored our soldiers killed in the Iraq war. Can you imagine, refusing to allow the names and pictures to be shown as a small recognition for their sacrifice. And now they intend to smear the service of a decorated veteran, using lies that have already been disproved by the Navy. As the wife of a Vietnam Veteran, I am horrified that this is becoming an accepted way to treat our soldiers who have honorably served. As you must realize, all of this goes against everything that our country stands for - a free press, freedom of speech, and a free election.

Therefore, I am unable to continue to support any company that in any way supports the Sinclair Corporation, and this includes any companies that advertise with them. I love my country dearly, and I am horrified that a media corporation would denigrate our election system so blatantly. Please contact Fox47 and let them know that you will not continue to advertise with them if they air the movie. Please declare your patriotism by helping to defend our Democracy.
