A Perspective On Guantanamo, Bataan Death March, and Camp O'Donnel.

We are all very familiar with Senator Durbin's characterization of the Guantanamo detention center. I have been reading Oliver North's book War Stories II, Heroism in the Pacific. I have been taken aback by the treat of the American servicemen who surrendered in the Philippines and Horror that was called the Bataan Death March. I was also appalled by Secretary of War Henry Stimson's remark regarding the military's inability to send support to the troops fighting in the Philippines, "There are times when men have to die". . .

American "liberals", or, as they call themselves, "progressives", don't give a rip about any of that "Bataan Death March" sort of stuff. What is actually happening at Gitmo does not interest them in the least.

Do not try to reason with them. They are following their own agenda. Nothing hidden about this. Read your Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Lenin). Study them. They are NOT misguided well meaning idiots.

Good advice.

Did you hear about the case of Ruth Malhotra?

I got this email from David Horowitz on July 26:

Like so many -- too many! -- young conservative students in America, Ruth found herself being singled out for abuse by a professor who simply hated Ruth's political views. Ruth -- an A-student at Georgia Tech -- mentioned to her professor that she was going to attend the conservative conference sponsored by C-PAC in Washington, D.C.

Without batting an eyelash, the professor told Ruth "Well, then, you will probably fail my course."

She proceeded to give Ruth "Fs" on all of her work papers, tests, quizzes and eventually forced Ruth to withdraw from her class.

Thanks to you, though, Ruth was able to fight back! First, Ruth reached out to the Georgia Tech Chapter of Students for Academic Freedom (SAF). SAF chapters are on more the 200 campuses across the country, created as part of our NATIONAL CAMPAIGN for ACADEMIC FREEDOM ... you've played a powerful role in this!

I went to Georgia to join in Ruth's cause. I took her to the governor's office and asked them to help. I went to the Dean of Diversity and said, "You claim to teach respect for difference. Will you defend Ruth?" The Dean said she would. Together we scored two victories: Ruth was allowed to retake the course under a different professor, and the professor who tried so hard to punish Ruth for her political views has been banned from teaching in the Public Policy Department!

Ruth Malhotra's story is just one of the many triumphs our Campaign has witnessed.

Those people are not "paper tigers", for sure.

So what. There was an old Texas Ranger who said "There is no bad man in the world who can stand up to a good man who just keeps coming."

I wish I had known about that. I'm a Tech grad, and in ATL, and would have done what I could to help with that.
