I just tuned into Wolf Blitzers new show, The Situation Room. While Israel is in the process of a historic pullout from Gaza, CNN is reporting on
computer worms! Yes, you heard me right. Computer worms. This is quite honestly the saddest spectacle Ive ever seen on TV.
(Excerpt) Read more at two.gopinion.com ...
well it HAS taken down several networks, both at CNN, Capitol Hill (reportedly) and Businesses across the US.
Probably to most, the worm story is of more immediate import than the Gaza situation....
An MSM specific worm... misery loves company.
LOL
doesn't seem to have affected Fox News...
but I saw on the other thread that some FReepers have been affected that their various workplaces as well....
Heard that Fox was running XP instead of 2000...that might be the difference!
I hadn't heard that, but it IS the difference with this worm.
There is some sort of difference in the registry settings between Windows 2000 and XP and oh no i've gone cross eyed....
Some of us are wondering if this is stage one in an attack, ala what happened before 9/11 or something else. A number of government computers have been affected. Media as well. Will something else happen tomorrow? Do I get the tin foil out now? Or are we watching history in the making?
LOL!
:)
I think it's just another case of a brat living in his mother's basement and a dumb sysadmin.
That is possible too...but there will be people watching to see what happens next.
yeah....well probably short of a nuke attack in Gaza....
but then again that is something of a bigger amplitude....
That damn worm shut down VF corp HQ in my town this afternoon. Girlfriend got the afternoon off.
CNN tanking as Fox News surges Double-digit declines reported for Larry King, Wolf Blitzer
